More From Jai Courtney On SUICIDE SQUAD Training, Co-Stars, And Director David Ayer

During yesterday's press junket for the Divergent sequel, Insurgent, actor Jai Courtney talked a bit more with Access Hollywood about his role as Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad, as well as the anticipation to meet his all-star castmates. "Everyone's been in training, but we're yet to kind of all converge and get down, but that's happening this week," he said. "I can't wait. It's really cool. It's going to be [as] big as you can imagine and, you know, it's a really interesting world." Courtney then discussed how meeting the expectations of director David Ayer might bring some friendly competition to the set when filming starts next month. "It does attract a certain amount of talent and dedication and [David] really demands that," he said. "I mean, I'd heard a lot about what he put the guys through on Fury in order to prepare for that film and it fascinated me. I mean, you don't always get that. That's such a privilege as an actor when you are presented with a challenge and expected to really bring it and match and kind of come along. I think the group he's assembled, there's probably going to be a really healthy amount of competition between us. You know, not just to do it like the macho elements of like getting in shape and stuff....And you bring out the best in one another when you demand that of each other." What do you think?

Among the Suicide Squad stars currently gearing up for filming in Toronto, Canada, next month is Jared Leto, who has returned to Instagram with yet another photo teasing prep to play the Joker.

Great! Hope Ayer will bring personality and relationship to each member of SS. Just like what he did in Fury. Cant wait for #skwad !!!

To be honest, I'm still wishing that Jon Bernthal is Deadshot. Still dont see Smith as Deadshot. Hope he'll do great. Btw, Bernthal would make an awesome Guy Gardner. Go watch Fury and you will see Guy Gardner.

Ok... First off, I find it CRAZY that FOX is going to have the most CBM's in 2016. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if you would have asked me 2 years ago, they would have been at the bottom of my list for studios with the most CBM's in any year. And second? Well, I LOVE the idea of the Suicide Squad movie, but I am am beyond skeptical about the character Captain Boomerang. I mean, the name screams of some City of Heroes reject. The little bit I've read about him and what I've seen in Arrow and Assault on Arkham... I really think this character is unbelievably dumb. I'm anxious to see if WB can make him relevant. I mean, if Marvel can make a talking tree work, well, I guess anything is possible.

Fury was really a good movie and everyone in it gave their 100% to the material.
David Ayer must bring everything he got to this one now.

Oh on side note I watched Kingsman last night. And it was fun, really enjoyed it. with nice story - humor - action. Colin Firth was Awesome.

@StreakOfBlue

There still is a chance Ezra Miller could be playing the Wally West Flash in BVS.

I base that on recent rumors WB is going with the John Stewart version of Green Lantern for Justice League and leaving open the option of Hal Jordan being in the backstory in the solo film.

Likewise,its possible a version of the Flash that has never been caught on film has been in existence for years.

Barry could be the original version and have turned over the job to Wally West who founds the Justice League,appears in a solo film,then dies in the second Justice League film making way for Barry Allen to return in a The Flash 2 film.

This movie is going to be so [frick]ing dope. I hope it's not overly dark though, I feel like some humour is needed, especially with a character like Captain Boomerang.

I can't wait to see Leto's Joker but I'm a worried about the Joker not being on center stage. He's too important of a character to not get the attention he deserves

I love the talk about this topping Batman v Superman. It both makes me excited and also rustles my jimmies I must admit. I'm so Hype for all of the CBM's coming out next year but Dawn of Justice is GOAT.

Where I'm afraid Dawn of Justice will be a bloated, dour, mess of a movie, I have really high hopes for Suicide Squad. Smith aside, the cast looks flawless. Plus they seem to be giving the director room to play, and the concept is genuinely novel.
