After appearing as Heimdall in several Marvel Studios movies, Idris Elba made the jump to The DCEU when he debuted as Bloodsport in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

Though the character did come in for some backlash for being a little too similar to Will Smith's Deadshot, Elba's formidable mercenary with a heart proved to be one of the many highlights of the film, and fans have been wondering if and when we'd see him again.

Gunn recently debunked a rumor that a Bloodsport HBO Max series was in development, but it certainly sounds like something focusing on Robert DuBois is currently in the works at Warner Bros. Discovery.

Elba actually reprised the role of Heimdall for Thor: Love and Thunder's post-credits scene, so Erik Davis asked The Wire alum if his next project was Marvel or DC-related, and the actor revealed that he has "a really big thing cooking for DC right now."

There's been some speculation that Bloodsport could show up in season 2 of Peacemaker, but Elba's comments would seem to suggest that this mysterious project will be more DuBois-focused.

Could he be referring to a direct sequel to The Suicide Squad? The movie underperformed at the box office, but it fared a lot better on HBO Max, and Peacemaker also proved to be a massive hit, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Elba may give us a few more details during his full interview with Davis, but for now, be sure to share your theories in the comments section.
