The new trailer for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad was released online earlier today, and we now have an awesome theatrical poster to go with it.

The director took to Twitter to share the new one-sheet, which features every new and returning member of Task Force X with their war faces on as they charge through the waves to meet their adversaries in battle. To borrow a tagline from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, who will survive... and what will be left of them?

Gunn also broke down the new trailer with IGN, and you can find out what he had to say at the link below.

"Welcome to hell — a.k.a. Bell Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out — even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today's do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin, and everyone's favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese."
"Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and- destroy mission with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave...and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them."

We recently found out that the movie was officially rated R for "strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use and brief graphic nudity."

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere on HBO Max and in theaters on August 6.

@WakandanQueen - He flopped on his face trying to.

Not flopped on the financial sense, flopped on the failure sense.

@Saga - Sometimes I wish that Justice League Mortal got made in 2006. Would have saved us from the travesty of the current franchise. Starro would have been in the sequel too

Do we have confirmation if Flash, Shazam, WW84, The Suicide Squad and so on exist within the original DCEU, rebooted DCEU, or are all standalone but have heroes that exist within their own worlds with just name drops?

@SonOfAGif - from the latest trailer, this did strike me as being a reboot or atleast taking place in a reboot timeline.

I'm hoping that whatever tricks The Flash is gonna pull, only Shazam and its sequel, Aquaman and its sequel, Black Adam, The Suicide Squad and the first Wonder Woman carry over.

The way the trailer made it look like, Bloodsport is going to be the main-main character. And so does this poster.

Definitely look forward to him, Ratcatcher, King Shark, Polka Dot Man, King Shark and their interactions.

Everyone is screaming and then you have Pete Davidson looking dumbfounded as shit on that poster

As exciting as the first trailer was for me this second one really took the wind out of my sails. The newest trailer just felt way to try hard. I'm a fan of Gunns humor, but when it misses the mark it really comes of as what middle schoolers would find funny. I'm still excited for it, just not as much as I was.

Somehow I'm just sick and tired of DC even though they only have a handful of good movies. As a life long DC-comicbook fan, it's just been disheartening and disappointing. WB seems to be purposefully alienating their past fans so they can start over with new fans sooner rather than later, instead of just trying to fix what's here now.

@duncboy - Personally, I think the Snyderverse sucked and is beyond saving. This seems to be the right way to go.

@SnideCut - I don't disagree, I just think they shouldn't waste Henry Cavill's Superman. If they are going to reboot, why not just give fans what they want and make a bunch of money too?

My interest in this movie keeps waning. Idk it’s just doing less for me over time. Probably still watching it though.

As one of the few people that likes every DCEU movie minus Suicide Squad, I'm looking forward to this and more. I'm looking forward to the stand alone movies too, but I'm still on board this weird universe.
