The former star of the Smallville series clears up her comments on watching the series finale...

After making some incendiary comments that set of a huge uproar on this site and, appearantly, all across the web, Kristen Kruek has finally addressed her comments. When asked if she was going to tune in to watch the series finale, the former star of the show said “Maybe later on — like, on DVD or something.”.

The internet set a blaze with talks about how ungrateful the former show regular was and the word BWITCH was used to describe her by many, including myself. Now, she makes an apology to the fans of the show....

“There are many people who are just waiting for me to say something that they can hate me for” she posted on her Facebook "There is no personal reason why I am not watching Smallville weekly. Honestly, I never really did. I know people want to make it a drama … but there is really no drama."

She also talked about her absence from the show's finale:

“I do not believe there was ever a real offer for me to come back — though I am pretty sure that if I showed interest in returning, [showrunners] Kelly [Souders] and Brian [Peterson] would find a way to fit me in.“I may be in the minority, but I thought Lana’s story ended well,” she says of her seven-year run, which was followed by a brief 2009 encore. “I liked that she gained inner strength and … had the courage to walk away from Clark, that her commitment to a greater good outweighed her very human desire to be with Clark. That she saw that her love for Clark would never diminish, even if they could not be in the same vicinity. And that if she did not do … the best she could for humanity, that would counter some of the very reasons she loved Clark in the first place." "I think her story is done,” she reiterated. “I am not sure how her coming back changes Clark’s story any longer. He has moved forward. As he was always supposed to do. As Lana would have wanted him to do.”

There it is, Gents and ladies. Doesn't sound much like an apology to me. Sounds like it's everyone's fault, but Kristen's. -_-...

She shouldnt have to say sorry or explain herself! Smallville has been 99% crap these past ten years, and she's a decent actress (see: Chuck) who was given some bloody awful material to work with. I consider myself a "fan" of the show and I find it difficult enough to sit through most of the time, so why the [frick] should she?

Here's my question: WHO CARES???

I am a Smallville fan but this is ridiculous, she does not need to apologize for anything. She is busy, not everyone has the time for Smallville. Move on.

BTW its Kristin not Kristen.

The only way you can even be upset about this is if you hated Lana/Kristin already and were looking for a reason to genuinely hate her as a person, which I suspect is how the author felt already. All she said was she probably wouldn't watch and catch it on DVD. She didn't throw shade or disrespect.

And when you consider how much hate she got for years simply for playing a character and was asked to act out the nonsense the writers gave her how can one blame her? Its no secret most of the cast hated doing that show and there's been a ton of politics surrounding both sets of show runners. Rosenbaum didnt want to comeback either. Welling was ready to walk out on the start of Season 7 (Which resulted in the Exec Producer credit the next season and the JLA rumour) These young actors got tired of being bashed personally about the characters they played or because they weren't coming back. Rosenbaum was practically bullied on twitter.

Besides, you guys never cared about her character anyway so what difference does it make?

Would I like to see her comeback for the last episode? Absolutely. Hate her or love her she was a big part of that show's beginning and bulk and Clark never really resolved his feelings for Lana and it would have been nice to see them say to each other they moved and remained friends (Also how different would Lana be as a person with her powers), but like she said the show-runners now (Who were same guys who began writing bad scripts in 4-7 I might add) never really had an interest in her and are all about pushing new chapter of Lois and Clark.

She kept it diplomatic and wasn't even mad about it.

Wow, talk about much ado about nothing. Agree, she didn't need to apologize and she didn't even say anything offensive in the first place.

Still, her role on the show sucked. Her character was a drag on an already weak azz show so it was a good thing all around that she was written off.

Besides now she can focus on her blossoming movie career after Street Fighter ;->

Why would you call her a [female dog] because she chose not to watch the Series finale? Get over yourself and let her be. Even if her comments were misconstrued, she doesn't owe anybody jack shit. Ugh! Bunch of entitled pricks!

It's all about perception. No one likes it when someone so blessed comes across as ungrateful. Whether she was going to watch the show or not, Kristin lives in the land of smoke and mirrors, where image is everything.

She probably should have lied and said she was looking forward to it and wished everyone a great finale, blah, blah. It would have appeased the fans and given the impression that she is humble, grateful and is giving credit to the show that launched her career.

To many people those in Hollywood live charmed lives and because so, they are expected to be gracious about their good fortune. It's just how it is. I'm sure she's a perfectly wonderful person, or maybe a vapid wench. Who knows? But either way she should be smart enough to know that people will dissect everything she says.

Smallville season 9 in my opinion was the best but Season 10 just seems like a bunch of filler episodes, Kristin Kreuk did a great job while she was there. She shouldn't have to apologize for not watching the show anymore, Smallville now is really boring. Leave Kristin Kreuk alone

She was never a really good actress, but I can't blame her for the storytelling. The writers are what made me despise the Lana character on the show. The way they ended her storyline was just ridiculous. That being said I'm glad she is no longer on the show. The whole Clark and Lana thing was poorly played out anyways.

I don't care what she watches but I do wish that they would have brought her and Sam Jones despite his legal problems back for that highschool reunion episode and brought them back as a couple to tie up that storyline.

It wasn't her words that pissed people off, it was her body language. Pay attention to what she did when asked if she would watch the finale. It was a very female doggie thing to do.

Love the censorship :)

She's so unprofessional. That's what I observed from that video. Guys, she didn't even know her designer and she was on a red carpet. She was a spokesperson for a cosmetic company. She should have known better.

Smallville has been incredible. I'm sad to see it go, but I'm also excited to see Clark in the uniform. As far as her watching the finale goes. Get over it!! She's a busy woman. And for those saying most of the cast hated the show: I'd love to see some hard proof. Anyway, it's lasted 10 years, so I think the people are enjoying themselves. It seems there's so much hate on here towards Smallville. Anyway, the anger towards Rosenbaum was extremely justified b/c he played LEX LUTHOR!!! You can't "move on" from a show about the origins of Superman if you play LEX LUTHOR!!! It's completely ridiculous that Rosenbaum thought he wouldn't eventually need to come back. Lex is Superman's ultimate recurring villain, and if Rosenbaum had refused to come back, it would have been a huge middle finger to the fans who got him to where he is now. I am glad he's back, but I don't think I or anyone else who got mad were at all unjustified.
