SMALLVILLE Actress Allison Mack Reports To Prison Early To Serve Her 3-Year Sentence

Allison Mack was sentenced to three years in prison earlier this year for her involvement in the NXIVM cult, and has reportedly surrendered to authorities 2-weeks early to begin her stint behind bars.

We were all shocked to learn of former Smallville alum Allison Mack's involvement with the NXIVM cult, but the actress ended up getting off fairly lightly... all things considered.

After pleading guilty to racketeering charges - which could have landed her a 14-17 sentence under the current guidelines - Mack was handed a relatively light 36-month stretch that was set to start on September 29. However, she surrendered to authorities on September 13, and is now behind bars at FCI Dublin in the East Bay area outside San Francisco.

We're not sure why Mack decided to begin her sentence early, but it could be that she was hoping to avoid media attention.

Mack is said to have been shown leniency due to her pivotal involvement in the investigation of NXIVM leader Keith Raniere, which ultimately contributed to his conviction. He is now serving 120 years in prison for racketeering conspiracy charges, sex trafficking, forced labor conspiracy charges, and wire fraud conspiracy charges.

In addition to her stint behind bars, Mack will be on supervised release for another three years once she's released, and will have to pay a $20,000 fine and put in over 1000 hours of community service. It's highly unlikely that she'll actually serve the full 3 years, of course, and will probably be out after a year for good behaviour.

Not only did she start it early to avoid media attention, but probably to make a case later if applying for earlier release, along the lines of “see how good I’ve been? I even arrived early”

If this was a random citizen, they would have gotten LIFE in prison. But if you're a celebrity? A 1 year "vacation". System is Fd up.

@Typhoon20 - Not sure I agree, she actually wasn't the mastermind behind this AND she's a woman. There are factors going in her favour.

Also, you can hardly call Mack a celebrity. This isn't exactly Brad Pitt. She was on a low budget CW show for 10 years. Hardly anyone in the US would even know her name before this all happened.

Not saying the system works, but I think her "star power" here made very little difference seeing as she doesn't have any.

@Typhoon20 - nah, seriously some people have done really terrible things and gotten light sentences .

Like really even some of shannon tates murderers were released

@Typhoon20 - I doubt it, any leniency she got was becuase she helped them catch a much bigger fish.

I get we speculate about what's gonna happen in future CBMs, but now we're speculating about sentences too? Sound like a weird case of betting.

@bkmeijer - It's not exactly speculation. But I'll take that bet... she's out in just over a year, or I'll PayPal you over a tenner!

@bkmeijer - That’s what happens when people, especially celebrities get prison sentences. It’s not really speculative as it’s pretty much a forgone conclusion.Nobody ever does their whole sentence especially rich people or celebrities

@RorMachine - it is tempting. But since you're probably right, I don't know what I'm supposed to bet on. I'll say in 2023 she gets out

@Tpo81 - "celebrities" in strong quotes.

Although a relatively light sentence all things considered, the fact that she turned states witness and helped the prosecution is what got her off as lightly as it appears. Post prison time, I don't see her having much of an acting career anymore, but then stranger things have happened.

@Mugens - Two things. 1- Time heals all wounds and 2- People love a come back story. I can see a book telling her side and some tearful interviews where she describes how she was manipulated by Keith and how deeply sorry she is.

She should’ve gotten way longer

If you'd told me years ago that sweet, wholesome, butter-wouldn't-melt actress who played Chloe in Smallville would be in prison because of a sex-trafficking and forced labour charge, I'd have laughed. Life is stranger than fiction sometimes!
