Smallville Showrunner Says They Have A Wishlist For Final Season!

"As we've gone through every season, there are things that we literally add to our wishlist for the final season," she told SFX in a recent interview. "So we're just literally gunning. Everybody's excited for the season and came back energised."

Souders then went on to say that knowing the end date for the show was "a very rare gift" and it's helped them to plan ahead for this final season: "Usually you know three episodes before your final finale that your show is ending so we're very thrilled to have a whole year to plan."

Unfortunately, she refused to confirm whether or not the final moments of the Smallville will feature Towm Welling in the iconic Superman costume but did tease: "Everyone expects it to be Clark in the costume. I will say that we know the final shot!"

Meanwhile, Michael Ausiello over at EW has revealed that Kristin Kreuk will return for the 200th episode...but thankfully not as the Kryptonite powered Lana we saw last time!

What can you tell us about the 200th episode of Smallville. Rumor has it there is going to be a major Clois moment in that episode.

I can confirm that the final shot in the episode will drive Clois fans bonkers. I can also confirm that Kristin Kreuk will make a cameo appearance...sort of. The landmark episode contains a Lana flashback.

Smallville returns to The CW this Friday at 8/7c.

I hated Kristin Kreuk when she was in Smallville but I was surprised to see earlier this year, during her guest appearence on Chuck, that she's actually a damned good actress! Proof that the CW and their crappy writers/producers can ruin even the best of actors...pretty much what Smallville has done with the majority of people who've been on the show actually! :P

no more justice leaguers please. never made sense to me to have a 'JL' w/o even a superman. put him in the suit, let him start establishing all the enemies we know and love from the comics, bring back lex. give us some belief that all the stuff in this last season will lead to the Superman we all know, not make us confused about where he is going, because obviously, we will never know.
Superman8
Superman8 - 9/23/2010, 9:34 AM
oh and another thing, the more i see welling in the glasses, the more i think 'this guy is not clark kent'. idk why, but he doesnt pull of clark in the glasses to me.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 9/23/2010, 9:36 AM
GUNSMITH: You're completely right - we've already waited 9 years to see him fly, and while I can understand why they'd want to wait until the last season to put him in the suit, doing it for only the last few seconds would be a real slap in the face! We deserve at least an entire episode!!!

@ JAXIM

i hope not dude. they are already stealing the SR suit, dont steal one of the few good scenes in that movie.

ive seen it before. smallville is all about doing things we've never seen before, like Superman in a trench coat for instance lol. lets see something semi-original.

Ok... what about this... last season... Leading into a Smallville movie...

A Smallville movie where he wears the Costume and brings the JLA and JSA...

What about that all you haters???

deathmetal@ they have said from day one that most likely the final shot will be him flying away in his suit. its not a surprise so i don't understand why everyone is upset about it. they shouldn't be surprised.

How did they rape the legendary charactors-doomsday,hawkman,impluse,green arrow, cyborg & so on?

The show was never supposed to be about Superman it was always about the journey to creating Superman.

The only major mistake they have made as far as the comics goes is using generic characters when comic book characters would have made more sense.
TheDarqueOne
TheDarqueOne - 9/23/2010, 3:15 PM
@JoshW

I am asking this in what I hope will be taken as a friendly set of questions.

You have been around for a while and I expect you know what the Creators of Smallville said at the very beginning but for those who don't it was simple: No tights, No flights, when he puts on the suit the show is over.

But you say you have been waiting for 9 years to see him fly and that if he puts on the suit at the very end it will be a slap in the face?

I do not understand this. Is it because the show has done brought in so many comic book elements that everyone expect Clark to become Superman on the show itself? Or is it because the show has gone on so long that you hope the Producers will have decided to throw away their original intentions?

For once a show is doing what it said it was going to do. It has been what it said it was going to be. I expect to see Clark in the Suit at most for the final fight of the Season. I have never been a regular viewer of Smallville because I don't like 'no tights - no flights' but I have to give them credit for keeping their original vision at least mostly intact.

Where's the freaking wish list?

Since there's no wish list I'll include my own.

*Chloe doesn't become Dr. Fate
*No Darkseid. No dark anything. This show is too dark already.

Ah... a wishlist.

Actually, I have only one wish related to this show. That I had a time machine so I could return to 2000 and slap some sense into the people who thought it would be a GOOD idea to do a show about Superman... WITHOUT SUPERMAN!
easy

Kristin was the spark of the show...she was the best part of Smallville for me. Al and Miles said it on the 1st DVD.
She set the tone for the show... and at the height of the
show they almost hit 10 million viewers....

The show has never been the same since she and Michael left.

@TheAngryTroll

It was a good idea by the only measure that means a damn on TV: 10 Seasons.

theangrytroll
theangrytroll - 9/24/2010, 10:52 AM
@TheDarqueOne - No, the measure that means a damn on TV is ratings. And this show hasn't had them since the second season. It's been homorrhaging viewers at an alarming rate since then - less than two million people watched last season's finale. On a real network it would have been cancelled seven years ago. The only reason it's still around is because it's on a network no one expects success from.
