"As we've gone through every season, there are things that we literally add to our wishlist for the final season," she told SFX in a recent interview. "So we're just literally gunning. Everybody's excited for the season and came back energised."

Souders then went on to say that knowing the end date for the show was "a very rare gift" and it's helped them to plan ahead for this final season: "Usually you know three episodes before your final finale that your show is ending so we're very thrilled to have a whole year to plan."

Unfortunately, she refused to confirm whether or not the final moments of the Smallville will feature Towm Welling in the iconic Superman costume but did tease: "Everyone expects it to be Clark in the costume. I will say that we know the final shot!"

Meanwhile, Michael Ausiello over at EW has revealed that Kristin Kreuk will return for the 200th episode...but thankfully not as the Kryptonite powered Lana we saw last time!

What can you tell us about the 200th episode of Smallville. Rumor has it there is going to be a major Clois moment in that episode.

I can confirm that the final shot in the episode will drive Clois fans bonkers. I can also confirm that Kristin Kreuk will make a cameo appearance...sort of. The landmark episode contains a Lana flashback.

Smallville returns to The CW this Friday at 8/7c.
