After watching the Absolute Justice preview several times it would appear that Sandman is dead. In the picture it looks as though it's Sandman lying on his back at the bottom of the screen with two bloody, possibly bullet, holes in his chest. It seems that the bottom half of his mask is at the bottom of the left corner and his hand has just written JSA in his own blood. Possibly his death reunites the team as did the Comedian did for the Watchmen in the Watchmen movie?
