Will Arnett Discusses His Role In Jonathan Liebesman's TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

Will Arnett talks about facing off against 'Shredder' and the 'Foot Clan' as 'Vernon Fenwick' in the Jonathan Liebesman directed and Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, while also sharing his thoughts on what attracted him to the movie in the first place.

Will Arnett will play April's (Megan Fox) rival cameraman Vernon Fenwick in the Jonathan Liebesman helmed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but it sounds as if he'll still see plenty of action! "We went to New York, we were shooting that, and what was great was, I'd be there shooting all day, shooting a huge fight scene for like a week where we're fighting Shredder and the Foot Clan," he told Digital Spy in a recent interview while promoting The Millers. As for whether or not he's a fan of the characters and what it was that attracted him to the role, Arnett added: "It's funny, it's one of those things... it fell between the cracks for me, a little bit, because I was just a little old. I started meeting with these guys and then... I actually watched the cartoon, the animated show on Nickelodeon with my sons, and I was like, 'This is a great story and there's something here', and so I got involved. Of course, Michael Bay's producing and it just seemed like such a great thing to be a part of, and so I signed on very excited, and I had a fantastic experience." Are you guys still looking forward to this upcoming take on the iconic franchise?

^^^This.

If there's one thing Bay and Liebesman's films always are is visually stunning.

Let's just hope that this new script, which is said to be garnering praise from execs at Paramount, is a great as we hope.

This is essentially a kids film. Or early teens.
So I think it'll be pretty good.
I'm not expecting an Oscar worthy storyline or script, all I'm expecting is some fun and I think they'll give us that.

It'll certainly be an interesting film. Whether it's good or bad, remains to be seen. Most people look at the oddball casting and the weird rumors about the story and freak out, but for me, it's all just more reason to look forward to it.

I'm really excited for Megan fox's comeback.
She's matured a lot since becoming a mother and she's still very very beautiful.
I do think she has acting talent, when she gets a script where she can show it off.
But who really can be a good actor in a Michael Bay movie? No one.

@CherryBomb
I think she has gotten more attractive, naturally since becoming a mother.
I hope everyone can bring better performances though, since the movie scheme has changed quite and bit and feature films(mainstream mind you) have gotten a bit better in general

@TheOne

I couldn't agree more!
She came off as quite bratty before but now she seems pretty humble and just all round radiant. Not just a sexual object.

Not gonna be good.

The fact that they but character like Vernon in the film and give him bigger role proofs it. And the fact that Shredder who is supposed to be japanese is played by white American actor.

Vernon Fenwick, April's yellow jacket, that perfect turtle lair, and William [frick]ing Fichtner as the Shredder? Yeah, this movie's going to be awesome.

And honestly, if Bay were the one directing it, the tone and stereotypes associated with his cheesy Transformers films would actually be a perfect fit for turtle world.

Wel, this seems to confirm the Foot Clan. I find it hard to believe that Fichtner's character, Eric Sach's would be the head of a Japanese Ninja Clan. So perhaps the rumors of Karai are acurate and she is the head of the foort clan. We were also told that Eric Sach's goes through several stages of a transformation, as he becomes the Shredder, so maybe he is experimenting on himself (maybe injecting himself with mutagen and such) and becomes the Shredder that way. He might then become the head of the foot, because he is using blood found on ancient Ninja weapons that happens to be Oroku Saki's blood and he literally has Oroku Saki's memories. That could be why the foot would be around in the first place, to recover ancient weapons that were being used in mutation experiments by Sachs and his company (TCRI?). They could be theorising that if they can take the genetic memories from the blood found on ancient weaponry, then their mutants will have inbuilt fighting insticts and would make better soldiers that way. This could also explain why the mutant rat and mutant turtles have ninja abilities as the blood of Hamoto Yoshi and his four sons might have been used in the mutagenic experiments that created them.
Maybe.

This wont flop, the opposite will probably happen, especially if it's done similarly to the Transformers films which is most likely will be.

The foot clan in this film are a private black ops organisation led by The Shredder. The plot wont be great but the visuals and especially the Turtles will be, they also wont look "stupid" visually on screen.

It'll be cool.
I love the original film, but that focused way more on the teenage turtle aspect, due to the limitations of those suits. I'm looking forward to seeing what Liebesman brings to the mutant ninja action.

I'm going to give this a chance. Might be great, might be shit. I'm just out of the intended age bracket so I probably won't love it but I just hope it isn't TOO insulting to the intelligence of kids.
