“We were in the middle of negotiations for The Crow and I got a call from Thomas Chung, the film’s producer and Michelle’s (Yeoh) partner, as in not husband but partner. And partner in business too, because Michelle’s also a producer on this movie. He called me and said, ‘Would you be interested in playing the male lead in this movie Silver Hawk with Michelle?’ And I’m like: with Michelle Yeoh? Are you serious? I said, ‘Send the script round.’ I got it on very funky new, 17-inch, Superdrive Powerbook - which I’m completely buzzed about. I read and it and said, I love it. Two weeks later the deal was done, including every part of the negotiations - and I flew to China.

I said this before and I'll say it again. Some movies shouldn't be re-done. This is one of them.

I dont understand why people hold the first film so holly. Brandon Lee did an amazon job, the visuals were perfect, the music was loyal to stuff O'barr liked. Everything else was crap, it was nothing like the comic. They trashed a story I love more than anything. I want a watchmen/ 300 style crow. Something very stylized but much more loyal than normal films.

Well in regards to Luke Goss being one of my all time favorite actors, the man can do no wrong. I loved Blade2, i loved Hellboy2, i can't wait for Magdalena and i hope to god he's the next Crow!!! And i can't say i agree with kylemf88 in saying that the first was crap but i do agree in saying that they should stick to the source on the next one!

The reason a lot of as hold the original Crow so holy, is because you could tell Brandon Lee put all of his heart and soul into it, much like Heath Ledger with The Joker. For an Actor to die, whatever the truth behind it, in a role like that is devastating. Although the movie was made more family friendly than the comic really is, Brandon Lee put every effort to show the true grittiness of it. I am not against a new Crow movie, and Luke Goss would be a good Crow. I just don't want to see them push Brandon Lee's Eric Draven to the side like it was garbage.

Im so sick of people whining and saying not to redo a character because the actor died. So what if brandon lee died. The storyline was not faithful to the book. They do need to remake it and do it right this time.

I have to say this. When Brandon died it hurt really bad, and everytime i watch Rapid Fire or The Crow i get teary eyed. I still get a little misty when I watch Enter the Dragon. It also happened when i watched TDK for the first time in theaters. Sorry, it does though. Besides that I could care less about the actor who plays the character it doesn't give me the same feeling.

I liked Goss as the freaks he played in Blade 2 and Hellboy 2 but im not really sure he would do so well playing a lead role with no prosthetics. Especially if they go with a full remake and use the Eric Draven character who is sposed to be mid twenties, tall, dark, handsome, long haired rock star type. But i guess with movie magic these days, they could fit Goss with maybe one of those!

I have to say I agree with kylemf88 and ReverendShaggy on this... I was a HUGE fan of the original movie. I loved Brandon Lee, and was devestated when he died. The original movie was beautiful, but was entirely too crowd pleasing, and took an entirely different tone than the book. Instead of a poignant, gruesomely violent tragedy, we got a cookie-cutter action movie. This story is by NO means an action story! I'll say it one more time to those that have never read it, and believe that for some reason, a comic book adaptation translates into a multitude of "fight sequences"... NOT AN ACTION STORY!
When the Crow appeared in J. O'Barr's story, it was to exact a quick (or sometimes not so quick) revenge on the despicable individuals that so casually destroyed the lives of two innnocent souls. It wasn't to show off his martial arts skills, flying around a board room table taking out numerous thugs.
It was a beautiful story, heartwrenching and tragic, and had a very cathartic quality, dealing with grief and love.
Although I hold the original very dear, I would have to say that the prospect of a redo, one that would be more true to the original story would be most welcome, as I would welcome any reimagining of such a classic tale!
In short, the "if it's not broke, don't fix it" mentality definitely does not apply!

Its HOLLYWOOD adamat877,,, do you think they are going to be more true to the original comic book series lol??? They will do their own personal take of THE CROW and FLOP IT UP!!! p.s and nooooooooooooo not in friggin' TEKKEN too! I hate this guy, he's a B movie actor, sorry but he is, and was a crap pop singer too lol!

I like Luke too! But where is the respect for dead actors. You don't see anyone remaking any of Bruce Lee's movies with the exception of Jet Li's Fist of Legend for Fist of Fury. Need some new materal. I would be for it, only if it is done wright & dedicated to Brandon Lee. May they RIP!!! My role Model Bruce Lee!

I don't like the idea of a crow remake but what can I do about it? I can only hope that if they do it, they do it right. Goss has proven to be a damn fine villain and could be very good in this but I would rather see him as Sinestro in the Green Lantern movie.

I don't really like the thought of them re-making the crow. Maybe it wasn't straight up to the comic. I wouldn't know. I wasn't old enough to have a clue. But, in my opinion. The movie was amazingly well made, and Brandon Lee was absolute perfection as Draven. Now, that being said. When they do, do this movie. My only hope is that they don't butcher what has already been. I hope they take a new story with new characters. Maybe base it off of the comic if that's at all possible. But, I can say. That I don't hate the idea of Luke Goss being in it. Hell, I might even go see it.

What the hell is wrong with Hollywood these days, I mean are there no more good writers out there, did they run out of good ideas for original flims, im getting sick with the remakes. its starting to piss me off..And now some piss head wants to remake a classic..WTF... Im a big Crow fan, from the comics to the first flim, The Eric Draven story line is the best and will always be the best..The Crow is a classic and should not be touched, i mean Alex Proyas finish the flim for Brandon Lee and all of the crow fans out there, and for me a remake of a classic its a big slap in the face...HOLLYWOOD GET THE PICTURE STOP WITH THE F...... REMAKES

p.s If the Movie does get remade Luke Goss you going to need a wig kid

hahaha

Hey do you know how many people did thier own version of Hamlet?????? Over 1000. No one complains cause it's all the same story with different details. thats what remakes are some are better than others you people cant tell me that the new oceans 11 isnt up to par with the original or that Red Dragon sucks compared to ManHunter. Good god people there are 3 different versions of KING KONG no one (with the exeption of the Fanboys who think they know all see all) cares. I know if they make a Crow Remake more than half of you with be there opening night...by yourselves or just without girls. I'll be there and you can look me in the eyes after the credits role and tell me i was right.
