'Jay Garrick' Is The Focus Of New Clip From THE FLASH; Major 'Zoom' SPOILER Revealed

INTRODUCING JAY GARRICK - Jay Garrick (guest star Teddy Sears), a mysterious man fromEarth-2, appears at S.T.A.R. Labs with a dire warning about an evil speedster named Zoom, who is set on destroying The Flash.  Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team must decide if they can trust this stranger even as they face yet another powerful meta-human.  Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) must deal with a determined officer named Patty Spivot (guest star Shantal VanSanten) who wants to join his meta-human task force.  Jesse Warn directed the episode written by Aaron Helbing and Todd Helbing.

The clip starts around the 2:50 mark, but it's what Teddy Sears say about his role as Jay Garrick in The Flash before and after that which is particularly interesting. Apparently, Jay arrives on Earth-1 without his speeding abilities. Why? Zoom stole them before the Singularity opened up, and now it's up to Barry Allen to help him get them back. What do you guys think about this latest reveal?

Here's a couple things

1. Zoom was briefly shown in episode 1 when cisco is having his vision just for a quick second.

2. Is it just me or does this guy come off as a douch bag actor?

3. Think Berry's dad will become flash as a nod to the 90's series, also believe whatever the reason he left Joe was in on it and will be revealed later.

4. The douch from the video playing Jay just gave away a crap ton of info I'm sure his manager got the ok, but damn if not Jay will be returned to his earth never to be heard from again, kinda of like the Simpsons did poochie except he won't die!

That's it just wanted to get that out there not a hater of either side marvel or dc just want to see great comic book movies marvel hopefully can improve where they need to, villains, doing the females justice, and dc can successfully execute the cinematic universe with bvs:doj.

If he stole Garrick's powers wouldn't that mean he's most likely Garrick's Reverse Flash, Rival?

By the way, this guy would make a great "TV Budget Captain America" if Marvel had their own version of a CW-Verse.

See here's what I have an issue with...the vid title says, "Teddy Sears is the original "Flash"", but how can that be on EARTH TWO??

Earth ONE or Earth PRIME would be "the original", no? Unless that's not how it works in comic book land? Earth 12 is actually the "original" Earth? Or maybe it's Earth 441?

Ugh.

One or PRIME would be "the original". Only. Claiming an Earth TWO counterpart as "the original" is just maddening.

@BigDaddyJinx

Actually... it's a lot more complicated than that (and someone can correct me if I've got this mixed up), but in the comics:

Earth 1: Is the Silver-Age comics (roughly beginning in the 1960's, but including some earlier Superman, Batman, and whoever stories that carried over from earlier comics.)

Earth 2: Is the Golden-Age comics (beginning with the very first Superman comic and including all of the stuff that didn't suit the Silver Age comics, as well as a theoretical continuation of those storylines that were rarely actually spelled out in the comics themselves).

Earth Prime: Is "our universe" or a very similar one to ours, in which all the stories in the comics are actually comics. It's only really relevant insofar as it explains the origin of Superboy Prime (who is more or less just a glorified fanboy).

And it's important to remember that the Earth 1 and Earth 2 distinction was created much later, as a way of reconciling comic continuity that was never originally written with strict continuity in the first place.

So, in one sense, Earth 2 is "the original" DC comics, but within the fictional multiverse, neither have any primacy over the other (and the numbers are arbitrary). The Golden Age stuff only became "2" because most people were happily reading Silver Age comics at the time instead of worrying about parallel universes, and suddenly dubbing all the most popular characters and stories as "DC Comics Jr." would be a bit odd.

Oh, and one more thing: In the comics Earth 1 Flash:

was actually inspired by comics he read of Earth 2 Flash as a kid, meaning that he:

Sort of predated Barry Allen (if time even works that way across universes, which, to be fair, it doesn't necessarily). I hope some of that made sense...

As far as Earth 2 goes,I think that on the show, they will just simply refer to it as Earth 2.It will be one of Cisco's naming shtick.

Zoom.
What rhymes with Zoom, Boom.
What's the first letter in boom, B.
A comicbook character that has a name that starts with a B, Batman.
B is the first letter in boom, who was Batman's first sidekick, Dick Grayson.
What happened after Dick Grayson stopped being Robin, Jason Todd became Robin.
Zoom is the second Reverse Flash, just like Jason is the second Robin.
Jason Todd is Zoom.
