In "Rumor Mill," we share the hard to buy rumours that don't come from reliable sources like the trades, but are still more believable (just) than what you might find on Reddit.
By the time The Flash is released in theaters, it will have been more than three decades since the Dark Knight battled The Penguin in Tim Burton's classic Batman Returns. Danny DeVito delivered an iconic performance which now means Colin Farrell has a lot to live up to in The Batman, but might there be more in store for his memorable take on Oswald Cobblepot?
Michael Keaton recently closed a deal to return as Batman in The Flash, and a rumor shared via ComicBook.com indicates that Warner Bros. is also looking to bring DeVito's Penguin back.
There's no word on what role he'd play, but it's worth noting that Penguin did die in Batman Returns.
Concept art for The Flash has shown Ezra Miller's Flash teaming up with a Batman who doesn't appear to have aged since we last saw him, so perhaps Barry Allen will find himself thrust directly into the events of Batman Returns? From there, it's possible we'll see the Fastest Man Alive reunite with this Caped Crusader in the present day.
We'll just have to wait and see, but this is another big rumor for a film that's shaping up to be one of DC's most ambitious yet. Whether the studio can pull it off is another matter altogether.
