The CW Orders More Scripts For THE FLASH Ahead Of Series Premiere

The buzz surrounding The Flash is extremely positive and the team working on the series have already shot a number of episodes of The CW's latest comic book adaptation. However, if ratings are poor, it likely won't last beyond the planned crossover with Arrow! As of right now though, the network are clearly confident that they have a hit on their hands as they've ordered an additional three scripts for the show. Deadline points out that, "Giving any type of order to new broadcast series several weeks before their debut is unusual and comes after both The Flash and Jane had delivered a couple of more episodes, with the CW executives said to be very pleased with that they have seen. The CW brass like having the network’s new fall series prepared for a possible back order with pickups of additional scripts early on." We should find out whether The Flash will get a full season order a little later this year and it's looking very likely at this point.

I wish they concentrated more on quality than on quantity. If Arrow was 7 episode shorter and all the retarded romance bullshit replaced with a more fleshed out story it would be significantly better.

Cool that shows that they have confidence in this show. And honesty I don't think there is any show that will step up to the plate and knock it unless it's another DC show. Damn sure won't be Agents Of Garbage.

P.S. Keep in mind i'm not even a DC fan i'm a Marvel guy. But I gotta call it like i see it. But once the Marvel Netflix shows come out that will bring real competition into this TV superhero landscape.

The tandem of Arrow & Flash will wreck havoc upon the airwaves..If I was the CW/DC I would have either Arrow or Flash go head to head with AOS and put it out of its misery...

Darthsandwich - yeah, but network shows make money through advertising. The more shows there are the more air time they can sell.

Ya because the ratings for Arrow are so much higher than Agents of SHIELD.

Oh wait, I'm sorry I thought it was opposite day.

Hey ppl, does Batgirl's mom have the same first name? Guy who plays Gordon on the show just said he'll be sharing an apartment with his girlfriend Barbara Gordon (during a behind the scene interview from Fox news)

I think it's 10 episodes, 13 episodes, and then pick ups for the back 9 which ends up at 22.

@ homo....yep....as having an average of a 2.0-2.1 on a major network is BEAST MODE, especially when you have the Marvel films as a tie in..Heroes was cancelled with better ratings....

no wait its not opposite day....its ...Reality day....get used to it..

@lexHairFight, all TV shows are on the bubble so long as they have to produce good ratings.

That's a great sign. I didn't watch the leaked pilot.

I'm waiting to watch it when it officially airs.

@TelaVizion Batgirl's parentage has changed several times in her history. At one time she was the niece of Commissioner Gordon and was adopted and shared the same name as his wife. In other stories she has been established as his daughter and his wife's name has at various times been either Sarah or Barbara. It remains to be seen which route they go in this storyline.

22 is too many, Arrow and Shield tend to meander midway.
