After making a surprise return as Batman in Zack Snyder's Justice League, Ben Affleck will once again suit up in The Flash. We've always known that the actor's apparent farewell to the Dark Knight would see him take on a minor role in the movie, but it's now looking like it may not be much more than a cameo!
According to GWW's KC Walsh, Affleck spent only around a week on the set of the DC Comics movie.
We weren't exactly anticipating seeing Batman follow the Scarlet Speedster through the Multiverse, but "Batfleck" fans might want to brace themselves for a single conversation between Bruce Wayne and Barry Allen in the Batcave...and that's it! Rumours persist that by the time all is said and done, Michael Keaton's Caped Crusader will become the DCEU's permanent Batman,
Affleck bidding farewell with this cameo role before the DCEU is reset makes sense, and the actor moving on wouldn't be a surprise given what a tough time he's had playing Batman.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received negative reviews from critics, though most did praise Affleck's work as the iconic hero. He only had a minor role in Suicide Squad, but that was another critical bomb, while the less said about Joss Whedon's Justice League, the better. Despite all of that, he did return to shoot a few extra scenes for the aforementioned "Snyder Cut."
Hopefully, "Batlfleck" will still make an impact in The Flash, and if it really is his final appearance in the DCEU, we're hoping the movie serves as a fitting farewell to his version of The Batman.
The Flash is set to be released on November 4, 2022.
