I think he'll get the personality right and all, maybe not as right as some other Odin candidates, but right nonetheless.

But he just doesn't fit the physical requirements for Odin at all. He's way too short and small-bodied, and his voice just isn't as powerful as I want Odin's to be.

Ah well, I'll accept it, damn shame though, I was really pulling for Stellan Skarsgard.

yes...he did play the king in beowulf. He is a gr8 actor. Fabulous. I love me some Anthony hopkins. He is small but his acting is BIG and you gotta love the direction and quality of the film if they have someone like him in the movie imho.

It sounds as if Branagh is really taking Thor seriously. With special effects that they have now, Hopkins' look doesn't really matter. He's a class act and a great addition to an already amazing cast! It would be awesome if this could get Oscar buzz and complete what TDK did in making comic book movies more than novelties.

Really though, this is so full of WIN. Hopkins name on the thing will do a lot for the image of the project and also insure that there is A list talent in the role of Thor's Daddy. Win

@ Tyler lol we already know they are very likely to put all the Asgardians in muscle suits, so I am sure they will do the same for Hopkins.

Wow. Hawk is going to have a joygasm when he hears this. He loves Hopkins and he has been hoping Branagh will work with Hopkins. They were rumored to be working on King Lear a while back, but it fell through.

That dude RULES!
Also I think it's interesting that Hopkins is playing Thor's Father since he came close to playing Jor-El years ago.

This movie is going to be special!

With such great actors surrounding
newcomer Hemsworth this movie is
going to soar to the heights of
Valhalla!

Hemsworth may be a newcomer to American
movie screens but his charisma was
absolutely undeniable in his little
part in Star Trek! I know he will
nail Thor down with the guidance of an
award winner like Kenneth Branagh!!!

Today there is so many cool special effects that i think they are trying to make the movie little bit as The Lord of the Rings! What i mean is that they are going to make short actors to look very big in the movie. for example Hopkins as Odin! I think he is going to look very massive in the role with the help of special effects.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, this movie has to be Marvels masterwork. I better see at least a two hour running time for this. The talent involved has escalated this to a can't miss movie. I still say Hemsworth needs some real size on him, other then that I'm not complaining at all.
