SuperHeroHype report that Thor stars Idris Elba and Jaimie Alexander have revealed which other comic book characters they'd like to portray on the big screen at a press conference for the movie earlier today. Here's an excerpt from their report with the interesting revelations.

"I'd like a stab at Luke Cage," he said when asked if there were any other Marvel Universe characters he'd be interested in portraying.

Jaimie Alexander, meanwhile, plays Sif and also knows exactly who else she'd like to play in the Marvel Universe. "X-23!" she announced, eagerly.

What do you think? Could you see Idris Elba as Luke Cage, aka Power Man? And how would Jaimie Alexander do as Wolverine clone, X-23? Be sure to share your thoughts below.

With an all star cast which includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Thor is out now in the UK and will be released shortly after in the US on May 6, later this year!

Idris Elba should not get the role as Luke Cage.
I wouldn't mind Jaimie as X-23 though I've never liked that character anyways.
PaulRom
PaulRom - 5/1/2011, 3:25 PM
Elba's already Heimdall, so it would be confusing within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to have him play Luke Cage. Give the role to Terry Crews or someone.
I wouldn't say no to Jaime Alexander for X-23

@Kes But what I believe PaulRom might be getting at is that X-23 is owned by Fox and therefore, Sif and X-23 would never cross paths. Luke Cage, however, is owned by Marvel Studios, so to have Idris Elba play two different characters in the same universe would be kind of awkward.

@PaulRom Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Idris Elba would OWN at Luke Cage, c'mon people when have Heimdall and Cage ever been in the same room together?

Idris Elba is already playing another character in the Marvel Universe, he's in the new Ghost Rider movie. So the rule has already been broken.

SpideyDude - 5/1/2011, 3:46 PM
@jbozz ghost rider isnt set within the marvel studios universe

I would be more than happy to see hi as luke cage - the character woud have a very very different personality and looks to heimdall, the 2 characters would likely never cross paths and most people probably wouldnt even realise they were played by the same actor

HMM X-23 should be in A Wolverine movie by Marvel not Fox. and luke Cage should be play michael jai white

Idris Elba cant be Luke Cage since his playing Heimdall in Marvel Studio Thor. since Marvel Studio got the rights to the character he cant play both Heimdall and Luke Cage. they need to cast someone else for Luke Cage like everyone said Terry Crews for Luke Cage but i believe since his getting on in age they will get someone younger.

@jbozz17

the rule has not been broke Marvel Studio is not producing Ghostrider they dont have the rights.

@Kes

actually its not a double stanard since X-23 wont be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at all since she would be at FOX Studio not Marvel Studio.

a movie about Cable & Bishop would be dirt nasty

edit: that would be separate movies, I've always liked those 2 characters, especially when Bishop was first introduced.
Peteyparker
Peteyparker - 5/1/2011, 3:58 PM
@LEEE777 Sry man but Bishop has got to be Micheal Jai White!!!!!! But no to both. I agree it would be too confusing besides as soon as Terry Crews gets in acting class 101, Ray Park (as the Immortal Iron Fist) will join him on set for a HEROES FOR HIRE movie!!

X-23 has to be someone younger, 14-16. Someone who can pull off the little cripple girl scene where she kick/claws dude in the face. Or slightly older, around an age that fits perfectly for her first appearance in NYX. 25 years old max. But for Luke Cage, well I don't think he will ever have or be in a movie sadly. So yeah...

marvel72 - 5/1/2011, 4:24 PM
idris elba would be pretty cool as luke cage.

jamie alexander as nice as she is,a little to old for x-23.

@ jazzman

are you serious because i can see it,marvel need to sign the rock for a character of sum sort.

dc are taking forever producing a captain marvel film with black adam, which the rock would be perfect for.

Here are good choices to play X-23

@BlazeCage... there's no opinion on the article posted by Josh, its just news dude... or are you just sad that Nicolas Cage wasnt suggested as X-23?

Jaime couldve been a good X-23, but she's much better as Sif, so she should just stick with that. And Elba is already in two CBMs (Thor as Heimdal and Ghost Rider:SOV as someone else), he doesnt need Luke Cage as well.
Besides, this just seems like a response to a question, not something they're officially considering.

Guys, please check out my new X-Men Origins Magneto fan fic if you havent already

Isn't Idris appearing in Ghost Rider 2 as well? Also, Jamie's a little old to play X-23.

PaulRom Elba playing cage would be "confusing"? Then you must think Chris Evans as Cap is phucking ridiculous, right?

At this point, I don't even think they care.

Chris Evans: Human Torch (Fantastic 4)/Captain America
Ray Stevenson: The Punisher (Warzone)/Volstagg (THOR)
Rebecca Romijn: Mystique (X-MEN)/Joan (The Punisher)
Ben Foster: Angel (X-MEN)/Dave Spacker (The Punisher)

I'm sure there's more, but Elba as Cage is nowhere near Chris Evans double roles. They're both main character roles. Elba and Stevenson are supporting cast in THOR. But then again, I haven't seen THOR yet, so I don't know how dominate Hiemdalls role is. Either way, Cage is a boring character and I'm not particularly eager to see a dude in jeans with super powers. Work on the Black Panther.

@ Grif Once again you hit the nail directly on the head. Thanks to all of you for pointing out yet another reason why Idris should've PASSED on Heimdall. Although I have no doubt he did a sterling job at portraying the Norse God, aside from the obvious "race" issue, there are a number of much more high profile Marvel characters that he would've been far better suited for that probably would have brought him far more recognition and acclaim. I for one would rather see an actor of Idris calibre portray "Luke Cage" than Terry Crews. Although I think Luke Cage would still be better teamed up with "Iron Fist" then to try and stand on his own in a movie.

Elba would do thou!

@Roaddogg Those are horrible choices for X-23. Betty White would be a better choice than most on that list. Megan Fox? REALLY?
