Loki's Costume Transition In Thor

Loki's Costume Transition In Thor

Why I think we need not worry about Loki's first glimpse

From the recent images being shown, we're all like schoolgirls and can't wait for a definitive (and oh so awesome) theatrical trailer of Thor. I'd imagine the scale of excitement will compare to that of mine...when I first saw the teaser trailer for the Dark Knight. Only mere words were mentioned (Along with a Batman symbol exploding), but none the less, I feel the first Thor trailer for us fan boys, will deliver the same effect.

Now I found many of the negative comments being raised after the picture above was released, was related to Loki's attire. Firstly, yes, this is not Loki. There are no Yellow devilish horns, no mischievous grin, and no all green suit.

Lets just say, we need not worry! My first initial idea is that...

1) Loki in this current scene by the looks of it, isn't the evil, provocative half brother of Thor...at least not yet. He's quite obviously (by the look of his face) keeping his diabolical schemes under wraps until he can lash out on both Thor and Odin. For now, keeping up his appearances as a good guy, he's placed in this armor. Again, by the looks of his face, Loki isn't all too impressed with Odin's story telling, and wants to do something about it (Whilst Thor also seems to look like he can sense Loki's anger).

2) Cue Loki's new costume: After Loki's transition to evil, he adapts to his new costume...and Helmet (of sorts). And this, for all you worried fan boys, goes for Thor as well. In fact, I won't be surprised if a lot of time is taken out and emotion is shown when both Thor and Loki don there helmets for the first time. This could stretch out to entire scene even, and the same techniques may be used when Evans dons the Cap costume first time round.

As for The Avengers goes (and people who wish the costume in the photo up top was kept on Loki through the entire course of the film), I hope not. The costume shown, I personally believe is almost a decoy of sorts, before Loki is able to become the Prince of Darkness he truly is!

It's like I've said before "They would not wear a battle helmet around the house." I am sure at some point when they do "Battle" there will be helmets.

Nice article, I agree. Loki probably will change his appearance and put some gold into his attire to show his massive ego and royalty.

you guys gotta remember loki is not the main villain in thor so you might not see his horn just yet or maybe at the end as some post credits try not to work ya selves up cause u don't see helmets. it might come or not its not all the important plus Marvel is also using the ultimate comic as a bit back drops to there character and ultimate thor doesn't really wear one

Great article! I was getting worried after seeing Loki in the armor, but from reassurances like yours it is starting to make sense. Can't wait for more coverage on this! :)

Nice article. I actually like the costume. The color scheme matches the original and with the helmet, I think it will feel like Loki.
I believe he actually did where a kind of armor in Siege: Loki.

Gosh! Just look at that face! Hiddleson really looks like him.

Anyone with their underoos in a wad over the helmet is a jackass anyway. Sure I'd like to see it, but it won't ruin the movie for me to not have it. People need to stop being so militant over nothing. It's completely ridiculous the behavior that stems from one [frick]ing image of the movie, as though that single image encompasses the film entirely. "I don't see a helm! BWAAAAAAAA this movie is gonna suck! Waaaaaaaahhh!" Get ahold of yourselves.

Mike Saunders, nice article man. I see it as you do, and I appreciate your effort to medicate the bi-polar mob.
