Kevin Feige On Hiring Kenneth Branagh As Director:
"The name of Kenneth Brnagh was on the list of potential directors that we had established. Once we saw his name through the list, we could not help say, ‘Would not it be nice, right? « After, we had to get along, of course, but Ben came and really impressed us. His passion for the subject was contagious."
Kevin Feige On Hiring Chris Hemsworth As Thor:
"When we hired Robert Downey Jr. for Iron Man incarnate, it was not yet the superstar we know. I think Thor has the same effect on the careers of Chris Hemsworth. Thor is the name of the character that is great on the poster, not that of the actor. This allows us to hire the best actor for the role, whether known or not."
Kenneth Branagh On Discovering Thor And Bringing Him To The Big Screen:
"I had to see 7 or 8 years old when I discovered Thor on the cover of a comic in a kiosk in Belfast. The image of primitive man, blond, with wings on the helmet challenged me. I was immediately fascinated by the mixture of brutality and Viking foil. This is the movie we wanted to do: both very primal and sophisticated. For me, the story of Thor’s almost biblical with the two feuding brothers who remind me of Cain and Abel. It is also a drama about the family problems of those who possess great power. Pure Shakespeare, background."
Chris Hemsworth On Training In Preparation For Playing Thor:
"I started training seven months before filming, the actor explains. I went to play in another movie in the meantime, but I still prepare myself physically. When I arrived on the set of Thor I took fifteen pounds of muscle. It was too much. I is not coming in costume!
Tom Hiddleston On Being Cast As Loki:
"I think they called all the players measuring more than 1, 80m and speaking English!"
Natalie Portman On What Drew Her To The Project:
"It is the presence of Kenneth Branagh drew me into this project, admits she bluntly. I found the idea to give him a comic book adaptation so weird … I knew the result would be interesting what happens. It covers the material from an unexpected angle, mainly because of his Shakespearean background. The elements of the comics that might seem a little ridiculous on-screen take on another dimension with him."
Thor is set to be released in 3D on May 6, later this year!
