It's become clear that a big part of Phase 4 is about introducing a new generation of heroes and characters that set the stage for the Marvel Cinematic Universe's future. Following the conclusion of The Infinity Saga, that's clearly an important next step, especially as Marvel Studios can no longer rely on original fan favourites like Captain America and Iron Man.
Thor: Love and Thunder threw Zeus and Hercules into the mix, while also offering a glimpse at a lot of the MCU's Gods in the process.
Now, some concept art shared by Sung Choi has revealed another big name who very nearly made their presence felt in the movie. As you can see, this version of Omnipotence City had Cyttorak, the creator of the unstoppable Juggernaut, among the ranks of these all-powerful beings.
Cyttorak, also known as The Destroyer, hails from the Crimson Cosmos and was banished from Earth (where he was considered more of a demon than God). However, he continued causing chaos by bestowing his power upon various avatars, with the most famous being Cain Marko, Professor X's stepbrother.
The character has appeared on the big screen a couple of times now, including in X-Men: The Last Stand and Deadpool 2. The latter saw Ryan Reynolds lend his voice to a CG version of the villain, while the former featured Vinnie Jones bringing the formidable powerhouse to life on screen.
Cyttorak appears to be sitting alongside a Galactus-like being, so we're not sure how seriously Marvel Studios and filmmaker Taika Waititi considered his inclusion in Thor: Love and Thunder. However, this feels like a missed opportunity as it would have been a deep-cut Easter Egg for fans that set the stage for some exciting future stories.
Well, definitely more exciting than that Bao God, anyway...
