THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Is Bringing Back THOR: RAGNAROK Costume Designer Mayes C. Rubeo

The God of Thunder has been through a lot since his introduction in 2011, but it's fair to say that his transformation in Thor: Ragnarok was for the best. Director Taika Waititi gave the hero a much-need refresh, and he went from being a dead serious, arrogant Asgardian to a goofier outcast warrior.

Now, all eyes are on Thor: Love and Thunder, especially as Natalie Portman will be returning as Jane Foster to suit up as The Mighty Thor, a fan-favourite hero from the comic books.

Visually, Ragnarok also impressed, and this latest news pretty much confirms that the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new God of Thunder will look nothing short of extraordinary. According to GWW, costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo will return to work on Love and Thunder. This is no great surprise given her history with Waititi, as they also collaborated on the Oscar-winning Jojo Rabbit.

Marvel Studios is clearly on board with having Love and Thunder continue to make good use of the new tone and appearance the previous movie introduced, and it's certainly exciting to think about what Rubeo bring to the table when all these characters are bound to be rocking new looks!

After being postponed, Thor: Love and Thunder is now set to be released on February 18th, 2022.

I liked Ragnarok. But I wasn’t thrilled with the direction they took Thor in the movie and into Avengers 3 and 4. Personal opinion, but I don’t like the bumbling idiot Thor. He’s a Demi-God. Give him at least SOME credit

Costumes were great in Ragnarok, so I'm really excited to see what she does here, especially for powered-up Jane and King Valkyrie.

Okay. The Ragnarok costumes had a lot of interesting texture and flavor to them that were at their best when they avoided the Andy-Park-comfort-zone. Valkyrie's second costume I think suffered from that.

But you look at the use of softer materials (like Grandmaster and Thor's main suit) and I really dig it. Not sure if Hela is part of this since it was heavily CG'd, I think, but she looked spectacular, as well.

Need to bring back the Hulk he made Thor: Ragnarok Awesome. I'm not feeling the excitement for a female Thor it's a wait and see for me right now.

Well, although it was entertaining movie it did not do much for me. I now i'm in minority here but it jst felt like just another Thor Sunday Adventure. Some good scenes involving Odin, Loki and Thor though. Hela was rather lame and campy villain (imo).
I think Thor one was better.

More Jack Kirby style costumes, please? And less Ragnarok Thor, more Infinity War Thor. He was solid in that. Knew what he wanted, had a great balance, and was tough as shit.

I don't like the new productio design, espeacially everything about the grandmaster's planet It feels too Power Rangers Lazy/Town plastic for my taste would feel more suited for Fantástic Four, the first Thor has More balance between the Nordic God aspect and the.Kirby geometric style, mixed with those hubble space skies, the only scene when I think they got It rigth was in the bridge fight scene.

Never been big on the Asgardian attire in these films. Too much pleather and plasticky armor as opposed to authentic looking materials.

Thor's best look, IMO, was his IW outfit, no sleeves and no cape, it gave him so much presence.
