Taika Waititi turned the Thor franchise around with Ragnarok, and the success that followed made it so the God of Thunder is the first Avenger to receive four solo films. Thor: Love and Thunder is Waititi's follow-up, which is currently shooting in Australia.
While the film is set to focus on Jane Foster's transformation into the Mighty Thor (with Natalie Portman having gotten jacked in preparation to wield Mjolnir), Chris Hemsworth's character will also be starring, stirring up mischief with his fellow "Asgardians of the Galaxy." Most of the Guardians are actually involved in Thor: Love and Thunder, with Rocket, Nebula, Mantis, Drax, Star-Lord, and more on board.
When Hemsworth recently chatted with GQ, he talked up Peter Quill/Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt, in particular, praising his humor and admitting that he's inspired and intimidated by the actor.
He stated, "The guy is wildly impressive with the spontaneity and the humor and the things he comes up with. It’s both funny, inspiring, and intimidating.”
“There’s that same – if not more – pressure now to do that again," Hemsworth added later in the chat. "So there’s a little bit of exciting, nervous energy that is motivating all of us to reach a little further and make sure we’re covering all bases and approaching the scene from every angle.”
What do you guys think of these comments? Thor: Love and Thunder is currently on track for a February 2022 release, meaning the film will be with us in under a year.
