Okay, so comic book movie villains are pretty cool, right? I mean, they're typically strong, enduring characters, that can make or break a movie based on how well they challenge the hero. In my opinion, half of the movie should be dedicated to the villain. Well what about when they aren't awesome? When they actually suck. Here is some of the worst comic book movie villains of all time! (My opinion, of course)
Honorable Mention:
Mr. Freeze- Batman and Robin
Yes, I know Batman and Robin sucks. The movie is made to sell toys, and the costumes suck. But I think that while Mr. Freeze was a muscle bound one-liner spewing idiot, he still had some characteristics. His origin and motivation was fine enough. The acting was cheesey for sure, but I don't know if I would rank him the worst. I mean, speaking honestly, would you had rathered Patrick Stewart take on the badly writen, poorly designed villain of this travesty? No. Arnold did his best, and for that reason I am leaving him as an honorable mention.
The Worst (No Order, just naming them off):
Two Face- Batman Forever
This, on the other hand, I can't forgive. Tommy Lee Jones, as opposed to Arnold Schwarzenegger, is a great actor. This character wasn't only poorly acted, he was the Joker! From the lack of sanity, to the completly colorful suit, I honestly think the Joker was meant to be the villain, then quickly changed to Two Face. Jones could have made an awesome Two Face, but this movie ruined the character by giving him little origin, story, personality, and making him into the Joker!
Every MCU Villain Ever
they are all horrible written, and not even threats. None of them make so much as an impact on the world, and are defeated in some of the worst ways possible. I am including Ronan, Malekith, Mandarin, Whiplash, The Abomination, and yes, even Loki, along with every other villain. Some of the laziest writen characters i have ever seen. The picture is the banner.
Dr. Doom- Fantastic Four 1/2
I don't consider Galactus a villain in Fantastic Four 2 because he really didn't matter. Dr. Doom was the only villain in my eyes. The reason: he's evil. And that's it. There is no personality, no motivation, nothing. He is just a scumbag CEO that decided "hey, i have powers, might as well be evil now". Now I know there was that whole "got thrown out of the company" subplot, but there was no resolution. Before he was put in a crate, he still seemed to be in control of the company. He had billions of dollars, and could "have any girl he wanted", he had no reason to be evil! And by the way, this mofo was evil long before he was thrown out of the company. Consider us lucky if the new Doom really is just an antisocial blogger.
Nuclear Man- Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
This guy is laughable. He is an original concept, made for the movie, and they still screwed him up. I won't even go into detail about how stupid this villain is. I will just say two things:
1) Watch the movie if you want to see my reasoning for why this guy sucks. The movie is my reason.
2) "DESTROY SUPERMAN" in Gene Hackman voice.
Deadpool- X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Don't pretend you didn't see this coming. He was cool in the begining of the movie, I liked him before Ryan Renolds stopped playing him (apparently, he didn't read the second half of the script, then he did and said no). But they made the Merc with a Mouth, mouthless. They even said in the video game "so you're no longer the merc with a mouth?". Other than that detail though, he had every power. That is stupid. The blades-for-fingers instead of swords is stupid. The optic blasts to make the area around the eyes black instead of the mask was stupid. Other than those things, they did a good job setting him up. In the after credits, his mouth is unsewn and his face is disfigured, which does make sense I guess, since they were setting him up. But in the movie, he sucked.
Well, thanks for reading. I know there are other villains that are terrible, like Paralax, Electro (I know he'll be brought up), Venom, Ronan (possibly, I didn't see GOTG but I heard he was stupid and wasted) amongst others. Agree, disagree, thoughts? Comment bellow. And if you enjoyed what you read, show some love and hit the red thumb! Peace Out.
