We've all been anxiously awaiting an update on the release of the first trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder, and while a debut date has yet to be announced, we shouldn't be waiting too much longer now that the press tour is officially underway.

Chris Hemsworth took to Instagram to reveal that he's embarked on "long lead press" with director Taiki Waititi and costar Tessa Thompson. While there's no mention of the trailer, this is a good sign that some kind of first look at the movie is imminent (at least, we hope so).

"Some long lead press for Thor Love And Thunder with these two wonderful humans," the actor captioned his photo. "A day full of wackiness and hilarity. Get ready folks this films gonna be wild!!"

The trailer is expected to screen in front of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in theaters next month, but there's been no ETA on an online release.

Thor 4 plot details are still under wraps, but we know the story will revolve around the Odinson's old flame (Portman) transforming into The Mighty Thor. Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and members of the Guardians of the Galaxy will also be on hand, with Christian Bale taking on villain duties as Gorr the God Butcher. Peter Dinklage recently hinted that he'd also be back as Eitri the Dwarf.

Russell Crowe let slip that he'll be playing Zeus last year, while Matt Damon and Sam Neill have also been confirmed to return as "Fake Loki" and "Fake Odin" for (presumably) a stage re-cap of the events of Ragnarok.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on July 8.

More hyped for Bale's performance than anything. Another awesome addition to the MCU.

I felt that since they gave the Superbowl spot to Doc Strange 2 that Thors trailer may debut during the College hoops final...which is tonight.
We'll see if it hits then.

Mad weird how Marvel just refuses to market this movie, and it's coming out in a few months. Makes you wonder if it'll get another delay

@KWilly - Long range P&A isn't happening unless it's cheap* because of Covid. Way too much cash was wasted in 2019 to not be very careful.

*interviews on talk shows for example with maybe a clip.

This has to be the shortest marketing window ever for a Marvel movie.

Seems soon and sudden, but when you consider the release date, kind of shocking we haven't gotten any official photos or footage yet. All things considered, I'd say that's pretty awesome. Can't wait to see Christian Bale in this (though I hope he gets a bit more screentime than Hela).

I’m guessing they’re holding out on us till Dr Strange comes out. Trying to give the insensitive to the people who like MCU Aliens over Wizards.

If you look at their hands it says 11/4/22 which is really 4/11/22 so we get trailer next week 👀👀
