THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER - Sif Actress Jaimie Alexander Has Arrived In Australia Ready To Start Shooting

There have been some pretty reliable rumblings that Jaimie Alexander is returning as Sif in Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder, and the actress has now confirmed that she's ready to start shooting...

Thor: Love and Thunder has assembled an incredible cast, with the Guardians of the Galaxy showing up to the party, and Christian Bale taking on the role of the villainous Gorr the God Butcher. There are some huge returns too, though, with Natalie Portman coming back as Jane Foster (transforming into the Mighty Thor in the process), and Jaimie Alexander now seemingly confirmed to play Lady Sif.

The actress took on that role in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, but she's been M.I.A. ever since paying The Collector a visit alongside Volstagg in the latter movie's post-credits scene.

Well, Alexander has now landed in Australia to start shooting her role in the Marvel Studios movie, and this is bound to get fans even more excited. Despite some hints that Sif had romantic feelings for the God of Thunder, many are hoping she ends up connecting on a romantic level with Valkyrie.

After all, the new King of Asgard is on the hunt for her Queen, and who better than this badass warrior?

Regardless, we never got an explanation for Sif's absence in Thor: Ragnarok, so it'll be interesting to learn what she's been up to, and how her return could factor into this battle against Gorr the God Butcher.

Yay. So glad they didn’t pull some dumb shiy like having her die offscreen.

I hope they at least talk about the deaths of the Warriors Three. I was pissed that Thor never mentions them

@NoAssemblyReqd - I bet the Warriors Three actors wish they had been too busy with a TV show or movie to have appeared in RAGNAROK. Their characters might still be alive today.

@NoAssemblyReqd - ME TOO!!!

Thor went through so much with those guys (as he said in the first film), and not even a mention?!

People kept saying Sif was wasted in all of her appearances, before Ragnarok even came out. But, everybody was wasted in The Dark World, so I never really got that complaint.

And with the first film, I thought she was great. It's the reason people have been clamoring for her to come back in the first place.

I may never forgive what they did with the Warriors Three, but I like how Phase 4 is slowly restoring Thor's original cast. Hope they bring Selvig back too.

@Kurne - Completely agree, what the point of killing off half the supporting cast of Thor’s story was I have no idea. And like you I’d like to see them come back again.

@Spike101 - Thor 3 was basically a soft-reboot. Taika wanted as clean a slate as possible

So happy to see the return of Sif, I much prefer the way she is portrayed than what they have done with Valkyrie.

Damn great. I hope Sif is the badass of this film. It would be cool if she was completely non-comedic.

I'm very happy to have her back. I was bummed when she wasn't in Ragnarok but considering how that movie handled The Warriors Three that's probably for the best.

Most likely she'll be Valkyrie's love interest.

"Many are hoping she ends up connecting on a romantic level with Valkyrie."

This is literally the first time I've seen anyone bring up this idea, and no, it's not a good one. In the comics, Sif has always been attracted to those who are worthy to wield Mjolnir. So if there's going to be lesbionics happening in this, it should be with Jane.
RedSheep
RedSheep - 1/24/2021, 1:57 PM
@ChimiFnChangas - I've seen that idea talked about a lot. To be honest, I think it's very likely to happen. Sif will unlikely play a pivotal role to the plot IMO, so she might just default to love interest. I don't really like the idea either. I would really like her to be with Beta Ray Bill, since her chances with Thor are probably zero.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 1/24/2021, 5:03 PM
@ChimiFnChangas - My gaydar is notoriously unreliable, but I never got a vibe from Jane in the slightest that she'd be interested in a woman. They're obviously setting up Valkyrie to have a female love interest, but Sif and Jane just seemed all about that hammer to me...

Amora or maybe a version of Annabelle Riggs may be where they end up if it's just happening in the background, but Feige's clearly on a diversity kick and Taika is a madman, so there's really no telling.
