THOR: LOVE & THUNDER - It Looks Like GOTG's Pom Klementieff Is On Board As Mantis

Well, it looks like Chris Pratt's Star-Lord won't be the only member of the Guardians of the Galaxy to appear in Thor: Love & Thunder, as director Taika Waititi has (all-but) confirmed Mantis' involvement.

We recently found out that Chris Pratt was officially set to rejoin Chris Hemsworth in Thor: Love & Thunder, and it looks like Pom Klementieff is also set to reprise the role of Mantis.

The actress took to Instagram to reveal that she has landed in Sydney, Australia, where the Marvel threequel is currently shooting. That piece of info alone obviously wouldn't confirm that she'd joined the cast, but director Taika Waititi's comment ("hurry up") would appear to leave little doubt.

Does this mean we're set for a full Asgardians of the Galaxy reunion? It would seem like a fairly safe bet given what we already know, but Love and Thunder was already shaping up to a jam-packed affair before any of the Guardians were confirmed, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Waititi might just be trying to wind fans up here, but it seems highly unlikely. Expect one of the trades to confirm Klementieff has signed on to return as Mantis soon.

Thor: Love and Thunder will see Natalie Portman return as new God of Thunder Jane Foster, while Tessa Thompson will also reprise her role as Valkyrie. It was recently revealed that Christian Bale will portray the villainous Gorr the God Butcher, and it's also been confirmed that director Taika Waititi will once again provide the voice of Korg.

@Reeds2Much - I mean was this in doubt? Wasn't it confirmed long ago that the guardians would return?

Hm, that’s unexpected..

I wonder how much cross-pollination there will be between Thor LaT and GotG 3

@PicolasCage - I guess a lot, given how Thor 3 was already a GotG wannabe.

It's gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.

Are the Guardians just gonna have an extended cameo? Maybe a sequence at the start of the movie where they're travelling with Thor before they go their separate ways? I could see them going on a mission and then Star Lord pulling a fast one so they end up leaving without Thor because he doesn't want him travelling with them anymore.

Or are the Guardians gonna stick around in a supporting role, making this more of an ensemble/team up film? If the circumstances were different I'd doubt it, but considering how Taika used Hulk in a similar way in Ragnarok, and the fact it's already pretty much been confirmed Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman's versions of Thor are going to be pretty equal as leads in this anyway, it really is anyone's guess.

I'm looking forward to it, regardless. Probably one of my most anticipated movies in Marvel's upcoming slate, along with Fantastic Four.

@DaHyro - For me it hits especially hard that Cap was the first one to salute him. I've just always seen Cap as the most respected Marvel hero and to see how much he respects T'Challa in the MCU, the comics, and here in game form just does it for me!

Shout out to the GOATS!!!
