A picture from the set has appeared online that reveals a humanoid looking robot.

The third installment of the Transformers movie franchise is already filming around the United States, with tentative deals still underway for more shooting locations. So far we've seen leaked pictures that reveal revamped versions of several Autobots and drone planes; but nothing quite like this.

According to Ain't It Cool News, a reader sent them the snapshot below saying that it's from the Chicago set of Micheal Bay's Transformers 3:



Transformers 3 is set to be released in theaters July 1st, 2011.

That is probably one of the robots from Real Steel. The robot boxing movie with Hugh Jackman.

I can almost guarantee that this robot is from "REAL STEEL"... which should have simply just been called "Rock'Em Sock'Em Robots".

That picture you posted is Rumble (Actually, I think its Frenzy. He was darker than Rumble). The one from the article is a rock em sock em.

That's for sure Rumble...the second I saw the pic that was my first thought then I scrolled and there were enough others that thought the same. Wow, hopefully they adjust the colors. Looks decent but could be better.

@Wolverinesfury...Sweet Pic...been a long time since I've seen that toy...it hasn't been redone with an update as far as I know...

@Taboo13...I know which episode you're talkin about...they created him and didn't work right, then Spike got hurt and they transferred the kid into him. That robot looked a little different but given Bay's past innaccuracies in the source material it's definitely a possibility and I could see Bay doing something cheesey like that. Cuz that episode was definitely on the cheesier side of all of em...

Probably that suit spike wore in the animated movie...it got "Bay'd" up for the movie. Looks like a certain someone may visit Cybertron.

@ShadowkinG I really hope Bay's not doing a Headmasters story...that really was a low point for the old cartoon. Cool idea but so poorly done...considering how many bad ass moments the show had.

yeah bay doesn't make his transformers look anything like the old school series, with the exception of Optimus being VAGUELY recognizable with the mouth guard thing. if this thing did look anything like a transformer (which it doesn't, I'm in agreement with those in the Real Steel camp) why are we assuming its one we'll recognize?
