THE BOYS Adds RAMPAGE And THE HUNGER GAMES Actor Jack Quaid As "Wee" Hughie Campbell
Amazon's upcoming adaptation of Garth Ennis' The Boys has added another team member in the form of Jack Quaid (Rampage), who will play the story's main protagonist and audience surrogate, Wee Hughie...
We found out last night that the role of Mother's Milk had been cast for Amazon's The Boys adaptation, and now Deadline reports that Jack Quaid will be playing "Wee" Hughie.
Hughie's look was based on Star Trek actor Simon Pegg, and that's who Garth Ennis always envisioned playing the character if a live-action take ever saw the light of day. Instead, we'll be getting Jack Quaid (son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan), who appeared in the first two Hunger Games movies and also has a role in the upcoming Rampage video game adap.
It sounds like they'll be sticking pretty close to Hughie's comic book origins, at any rate:
After the death of his girlfriend by fast-moving Superhero A-Train (Jessie Usher), Hughie is approached by a mysterious “government agent” named Billy Butcher, who drags Hughie into a covert war against a group of Superheroes who are not what everyone thinks they are.
The Boys hails from Supernatural creator and Timeless co-creator Eric Kripke, Preacher‘s Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, and Sony Pictures TV.
