THE BOYS: Eric Kripke Is In Talks With Jeffrey Dean Morgan For Season 4 Role; Hopes To Cast Jared Padalecki

The Boys showrunner Epic Kripke has confirmed that he's in active talks with Jeffrey Dean Morgan for a season 4 role, while also sharing his hopes to reunite with Supernatural star Jared Padalecki...

Eric Kripke served as showrunner on Supernatural for its first five seasons and has since taken charge of Prime Video's hit series, The Boys. The filmmaker reunited with Jensen Ackles for season 3 (where the actor plays Soldier Boy) and there had been rumblings we might also see Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the show.

As we're sure you'll recall, The Walking Dead star was also once part of Supernatural, playing Sam and Dean Winchester's father.

Talking to E! News, Kripke revealed that after Morgan was unable to join in on the fun for The Boys' current season, they are now in active talks to bring him into the recently confirmed season 4. "Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a superfan of [The Boys], so he and I are talking," the showrunner confirmed.

"We're trying to figure out something for season four. Nothing is finalized yet, but he and I are chatting and e-mailing and seeing if we can make it work with his busy schedule. So, stay tuned on that."

That's exciting news, but so is the fact Kripke may be looking to secure another Supernatural alum for the R-Rated series. "I would put Jared [Padalecki] on the show in a heartbeat," Kripke said. "I mean, he's really busy with his empire over there in Austin, but if it was willing to play, I would put him on the show in a second."

Scheduling could be an issue seeing as the actor is starring in Walker for The CW, but we'd love to see all three actors share the screen again at some point. Even if that doesn't happen, Morgan and Padalecki could bring a lot to the table in The Boys, and Ackles has already proved that there's more to him than just Dean Winchester as the unhinged Soldier Boy.

What did you guys think about this past Friday's "Herogasm" episode?

The Comedian was pretty much a Boys character so I’d be interested to see how they seperate him from that character. I really hope this happens, he’s one of my favourite actors! Padalecki… I really liked Supernatural but he’s not a very good actor at all. Jensen Ackles acted rings around him.

@connorblaze - He got better over the course of the show, but, yes, Jensen Ackles is an acting powerhouse.

Love how much loyalty there is towards his Supernatural folks

He should have played the Legend (and a more Stan Lee-like one as it should have been).

Please no. I really do not understand why people like this actor and his stupid "lean back" mannerisms. I can't stand him.

I could imagine Jared as Swingwing. He parodies Nightwing and is Tek Knight's former sidekick.

Jared playing a toxic superhero is very...ironic lol.

@BobbyW - Lol not much really. Mostly just referencing Jared's past antics that include drunkenly assaulting someone and his weird feud with Jensen online over that Supernatural spin-off.

@RitoRevolto - Interesting. I had no idea about that stuff. No wonder I was never truly a "fan" of Jared. Jensen, on the other hand, seems like such a cool due and he definitely owns the stuff he's in.

@BobbyW - Yeah, Jensen has always been awesome and a class act.

I like to see Adam Brody in an episode as a supe.

When he mentions Jared Padalecki and his "empire on Austin" does he mean his job at Walker? Quite a way to call it then.

The real challenge would be getting the three of them sharing the screen on The Boys though.

Haha when I saw another Bobby Singer on a Kripke show I remembered the line from The French Mistake: What kind of a douchebag names a character after himself?
