When The Boys returns for its third season this June, it will adapt the "Herogasm" storyline that follows the team as they infiltrate the Voight-sponsored annual event that...well, it gets pretty hardcore.
How the massive superhero orgy will translate to live-action remains to be seen, but Jensen Ackles (who is joining the Prime Video series as Soldier Boy) was definitely taken aback by what he witnessed. Talking during a recent SXSW panel for The Boys recently, the Supernatural alum spoke about the impact the scenes they shot during "Herogasm" had on the cast and crew.
"I think everybody knows that they somehow managed to tackle Herogasm this season," Ackles started. "How they did that I will not say, but...holy sh-t. I'll give you just a little story. I walked on set, not to say that I was in that particular scene or whatever, but I was working that day and I walked up to our camera operator who was eating a sandwich outside of set, he had his mask down."
"He was eating a sandwich, he had this really troubled look on his face and I said, 'Hey man, what's going on? How's it going in there?' and he goes, 'Man, I've seen some sh-t today!'" the actor continued. "And I was just like 'Oh, Oh no!' So, yeah, good times."
Needless to say, we're now even more intrigued to learn what "Herogasm" will entail, and it certainly sounds as if the plan is to push the boundaries of what can be shown on television!
The Boys returns for its third season on Prime Video on June 3.
