THE WALKING DEAD Finds Its Negan In Jeffrey Dean Morgan

Despite recent rumors that Garret Dillahunt had won the role of Negan on The Walking Dead, Watchmen and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be playing the skull-bashing scoundrel, winning out over Dillahunt and Timothy Olyphant.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan will debut as Negan in the season 6 finale of The Walking Dead.  The news comes after rumors began circulating the internet that Garret Dillahunt had won the role. If AMC viewers thought the show would never have a villain as evil as The Governor (David Morrisey), guess again.  In the comic series, Negan has inflicted more damage on Rick Grimes and co. than any other single force. THR confirms that Dillahunt was indeed in the running for the role, along with Timothy Olyphant, Matt Dillon.

What do you think of the casting? A lot of Justified fans will surely be miffed that Olyphant missed out on the role. Take the conversation to the comment section below and tune in this Sunday to finally find out what happened to Glenn. Did he miraculously survive only to be setup for a momentous meeting with Lucile?

Excellent! He suits the part better than that Dillahunt guy. He's an odd bird.

Season One is fantastic, stopped watching after the terrible Season Two. Love JDM though so might have to tune in for his appearance.

I can not believe this casting this is amazing. I was pumped for him as Thomas Wayne but this tops it all

Great casting I have no idea though how they are gonna do Negan when they can't say the word "[frick]", swearing is such a integral part of that character especially the word [frick].

Why can't they use the word "[frick]"? Its not like this is the public broadcasting system...You cannot get this channle without a paid subscription...Once again, too much government meddling..

People watching The Walking Dead are asking themselves "is Glenn dead" and to that I say "not yet"

I liked his introduction in the books. He's a legend before you meet him. Wonder how long his contract is... pretty soon we'll be casting for alpha.

I didn't think they would be looking for someone as high profile as him or Dillon or Olyphant. Definitely piques my interest though. I've always enjoyed his work, and can't wait to see him as Negan.

AMC are never willing to more than tv-14 despite being a cable channel.

I really hope he kills of Daryl instead of Glenn...Daryl should've been killed 2 seasons ago. Just to stress the point that nobody is safe on this show.

I don't know the character from the comics and I've been off the show since before the mid season break of the last season, but this actually motivates me to get back to it.

Awesome!

Now that we have a decent Negan, Glenn's gotta be alive so he could die properly...

If he's really dead... kill Morgan then, the peace guy.

@Interestein Yeah, I don't blame you, I think Walking dead season 2 is the worst cb show season we've had in recent years, and that includes crap like Gotham, Arrow S3 and AOS S1. Its just sooo booooring, and nothing happens except some crappy love triangle. Season 3 generally made up for it (besides having a hilariously anti-climatic ending).

I say negan saves Glenn but holds him hostage the season finale it will happen. Only thing that might work other then this is if he cuts off ricks hand instead of the governor

Love this casting - he was great as the Comedian and John Winchester.

I think Negan's first victim will be swapped out - it would be cruel to the audience to have Glenn survive the dumpster fall only to be killed off a few episodes later. I think Abraham might be the one who falls to Lucille. It's going to be hard-core, no doubt!

"I think Jefferey Dean Morgan has now officially pass Chris Evans and Josh Borlin in being in more comic book related live action movies or tv shows."

But you know who the longest raining champ is for most CBM appearances...

@Niklander You should read comics then, much much better than tv show.

And episode with Morgan sucked for me,all this Morgan philosophy is just stupid.
