There were a lot of casualties in the third season of The Walking Dead, so it should come as no surprise that AMC are hoping to replenish the ranks of the living when it returns for a fourth year in October. TV Line reports that the network has issued a casting call for a series regular role for a character called "Roy Stark". According to the site, he's "described as a former army medic who is deeply haunted by his past — pre- and post-zombie apocalypse. As a result, he’s a bit of a loner, although he maintains a charming/self-deprecating/confident public face." They're looking for actors in their 30s to mid 40s. As this isn't a character from the comic books, we'll have to wait and see where he turns up. Could he be one of the new additions to the prison or a new ally of The Governor? Sound off with your thoughts and theories below.

Why make a new soldier character when you can just use Abraham from the comic.

A new medic? Does this means Hershel dies in season 4?

As a fan and someone studying to be an actor, I'd love to be on The Walking Dead. Even as just some zombie who dies in the first 5 seconds of an episode. Even that would be an honor.

Could be Nicholas Cage but he's a little over the 30s to mid 40s range but it's just my thought.

I've grown really tired of the show. It's no where as good as the comic book. I skipped the season finale for the premier of game of thrones. Which also has zombies. And a better story with better Character drama and plot
