ARROW Originally Wanted Ted Kord Not Ray Palmer

A throwaway line about why they are using Atom in Arrow and teases a possible future for Ted Kord in another possible porperty.

Arrow obviously had a ComicCon panel today and while most have focused on the trailer and "Oracle" news I saw another interesting tidbit of information when asked about the use of Atom in the show to be played by Brandon Routh.   Producer  Andrew Kreisberg said "We actually originally asked for Ted Kord," Kreisberg said of the character. "But DC has other plans for him, so they said, 'How about Ray Palmer?' And we said that would work even better."

The question I pose to the community is what plans do you think they have for Ted Kord if Arrow could not have him? Let the speculation begin and thank you for reading my article

My hopes are somthing that includes Booster Gold as well. With all the celebrity reality TV stuff I think there would be a lot of ways to make a real good superhero story out of that. It would be entertaining with some good social commentary to keep it relevant to today's audience.

Ted is cool and all, but Jamie's design is certainly the best. I'd love to see that somewhere, somehow, live-action.

DC you better mean ted. Teds a hero, screw Jaime. Ted is the one true blue beetle, and deserves a movie, or tv show or whatever you have planned.

Jaime will be Blue Beetle with Kord's death serving to set up plot of power and responsibility being thrown upon a teenager. Basically Spider-Man in an Iron Man suit.

Could be saved for flash. Doubt he has anything to do with JL.

Ted >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jaime

Also, Jason Bateman should play Ted in the movies.

All these rules about holding characters back because of in development projects that probably won't happen is really stupid. I mean why save Blue Beetle for a Booster Gold movie that is likely not going to happen. He was already mentioned on Arrow and I don't see why he wouldn't show up after so much of his technology has been stolen/misused.

I also thought the belief around here was that they asked for Nightwing and DC said no. It would be cool if he ends up being the big season 4 DC character.

@knocturnal, as far as I know Ted Kord was killed by Maxwell Lord before Infinite Crisis.

I think Blue Beetle will still show up in the Arrow-verse. Dc probably just said that because they want to get their shrinking superhero out as soon as possible. Too bad, because I would've killed to see Ray Palmer on the big screen.

Don't toy with my feelings, DC.

I love both Ted and Jaime.

I probably like Ted more, but I'll vote for Jaime on the big screen, cus his costume looks cooler and I don't want DC to be an Aryan Brotherhood sort of thing like Marvel.

@McGee that looked nice.

I think we should see both Ted & Jaime I want Ted more because of the possibilities honestly but I am happy with either. the Batman The Brave & The Bold stories of Blue Beetle did it a lot of.....wait for it....JUSTICE!!!! haha!

I guess Edgar Wright will be making the Blue Beetle and Booster Gold movie. I would be okay with that. I also hope Ted ends up on Arrow later down the road too.
