ARROW's Executive Producer Is Not Happy About [SPOILER's] Death Leaking

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated, "I just look at these paparazzi as they’re ruining the party for everybody...They’re kind of taking a big steaming dump on the work that all these people do."

Last week, set photos and videos from the Vancouver filming location of The CW's Arrow spoiled one of the biggest mysteries of season 4 - which member of Team Arrow is in the grave. [TO FIND OUT, CLICK HERE].  One person who's extremely displeased with the spoiler leaking is Arrow showrunner Marc Guggenheim.  "I just look at these paparazzi as they’re ruining the party for everybody.  Unfortunately, when you’re dealing with a cemetery, we have to go out on location.  We have to be out in the world. We can’t produce the show just on our soundstages. We have extra on-set [production assistants] patrolling. We try to put things up to block people. It does happen and it just sucks.”  Guggenheim went on to add, "I just look at these paparazzi people like they’re just spoiling it for everybody. They’re kind of taking a big steaming dump on the work that all these people do. They work in Vancouver [for] unbelievable hours — [often] in the rain, terrible conditions — and they do it all to produce shows that everyone can be entertained by and part of being entertained is being surprised.

One thing's for sure, the death of this character will change the dynamic of the show moving forward.  Something that many fans assumed would happen, due to comic book canon, will now, never come to pass.  And while we now know the identity of the character in the grave, we don't know HOW the character bites the bullet or who does the deed so there's still some mystery surrounding tonight's episode.

MALCOLM MAKES HIS MOVE - Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey) learn that Merlyn (John Barrowman) is going to try to break Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) out of prison. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) gets a surprising offer and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) has a heart-to-heart talk with Curtis (guest star Echo Kellum). Rob Hardy directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Keto Shimizu (#418).

Maybe you should have killed Felicity then.

"I just look at these paparazzi as they’re ruining the party for everybody."

Guggenheim, let's be honest. This party has been over for a while. There's no one left at it but a couple of people making out on the couch in the corner, and an overly drunk guy that no one knew throwing up in the bathroom. Fix it, man. I mean, DAMN!

@Cles - One of the most well-stated comments I've ever read on the site. Agree or disagree, that's put very well!

So it's confirmed Laurel dies?

[frick] off Arrow. Killing off Black Canary on an Arrow show because Guggenheim thinks the Tumblr audience are the best people to get advice from.

Paparazzi? yeah, no. If everyone on the show was likable or if the show itself was engaging to watch anymore, than I can understand, but people are pissed because of the direction the show HAS taken post Season 2.

I wont follow the show anymore unless something gathers my interest, like Constantine or Vixen. Until then, this show can [frick] off

Can I understand people not liking Felicity?
Sure, I can.

Can I understand people not liking her MORE than they dislike Laurel Lance?
No. I simply can't. Laurel is the WORST!

I may actually check the show out again, once she is gone!

@Ninja55 - The characters went in opposite directions for me. Laurel started off god-awful but has grown into a much better character. Felicity started as charming as has becoming downright intolerable.

@Ninja55 - replacing an underwritten character with an overwritten character isn't an improvement, but sure, go nuts

I gave up on this show after season one, just too dull for me. But I agree, it is crappy that this kinda stuff happens for fans of the show.
