Lots of revelations were unleashed in tonight's season 3 finale of Arrow. Who Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) once was is gone. Who the Arrow was is now gone. In a way, Arrow now has the freedom to reinvent itself and deliver a show that just might be closer to the Green Arrow comics. Is that what you were hoping for in the finale?
The final confrontation between Oliver and Ra's (Matt Nable) definitely left a lot to be desired. It's obvious that Felicity's (Emily Bett Rickards) rally speech is what inspired Oliver's last, desperate attempt to snatch victory from Ra's but the execution was pretty clumsy. At least, have an overlay of Felicity's speech right before Ra's strikes or hell, have Diggle (David Ramsey) show up at the last second to save Oliver and prove once and for all how much Oliver needs him. Instead, Oliver just inexplicably overpowers Ra's and the battle is over. There have been much better fights and confrontations on the show and with this being a season finale, the fight should have been on a much grander scale.
Moving forward, it looks as if there's definitely going to be some tension between Oliver and Diggle and that Diggle will DEFINITELY be getting a costume next season.
Also, Thea (Willa Holland) suiting up in the Speedy costume and wanting to be called Red Arrow? Awesome, right?
And Malcolm (John Barrowman) is now Ra's al Ghul, leader of The League of Assassins? Very interesting...
