UPDATE: ARROW's Suicide Squad To Return

WB's plans for a live-action Suicide Squad film may have curtailed The CW's plans for a Suicide Squad spinoff from Arrow, but Amanda Waller's (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) dastardly group will return in episode 18, "Suicidal Tendencies" with a few additions and subtractions to the roster.

Amanda Waller and the Suicide Squad are returning to Arrow in s03e18, "Suicidal Tendencies."  However Michael Jai White's Bronze Tiger won't be present and Sean Maher's Shrapnel is of  course, deceased.  Joining the team will be Amy Gumenick's Cupid.  Also confirmed to return is Michael Rowe's Deadshot.  Though onlyt two members are confirmed to appear at this time, it's most likely a safe bet that A.R.G.U.S. will dispatch more than just Deadshot and Cupid. Will Harley Quinn be released as well?  We also know that Manu Bennett's Deathstroke will be making his Arrow season 3 episode 14, "The Return".  In between episode 14 and 18, could Deathstroke become an official member of the team?  While this news is exciting, bear in mind that we're several weeks away from this episode's air date. For now, Oliver (Stephen Amell) simply has to heal up and return to protecting his home of Starling City from the criminal machinations of Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable).

Arrow returns tonight will all new episodes on The CW at 8PM.

UPDATE: ET Online mistakenly reported that the Suicide Squad returns in episode 18.  "Suicidal Tendencies" is actually the 17th episode of seasoon 3, not the 18th.

Deadshot, Huntress, Cupid, Boomerang, and Deathstroke would make a great squad

Hopefully Harley gets to do more this time around. We know Vixen will exist in the universe, so why add her to the squad. She was for some time apart of it after all.

Arrow season 2.5 comic had an original character join the team. Can't remember his name but he was from Khandaq, so we should assume he's part of the team. Fingers crossed for Deathstroke.

Suicide Squad was one of my favorite eps from last season and I really liked Cupid's first appearance. Adding Deathstroke would be awesome.

This is great news! Except the bit about Michael Jai White. I was really disappointed in his take on Bronze Tiger last year (I don't find him that great of an actor). Now his ongoing commitments to other things deprives the Squad of one of its best characters. A damn shame.

Michael Rowe, on the other hand, is truly exceptional as Deadshot. I can't wait for his return to the show!

@knightinarkham1 Just double checked, unfortunately he isn't Black Adam. His name is Ravan Nassar and was recruited by Waller to fight against a Khandaqi terrorist organisation called Onslaught, lead by Khem-Adam (Black Adam) who took the name of an ancient Egyptian hero named Teth Adam. No mention of any ties to Shazam or the Rock of Eternity though.

Arrow writers panicked when ratings got down after the awesome season 2, so they throw my boy Slade in the mix when they early say that season 3 will not feature Deathstroke.

@ BigFoster - Agreed! That would make for an excellent team. I miss Michael Jai White as Tiger though, I'm a big fan of his and was very happy to see him on the show. I would've liked him playing like Black Spider or something instead.

Episode 17? cool!

Flash's 17 -> Trickste Hamill
Arrow's 17 -> New Suicide Squad

I just hope none of them takes another break until their seasons end.

Deadshot, Cupid, Captain Boomerang, Deathstroke, Rick Flag... NO HARLEY QUINN! Don't even waste the time trying to bring in Harley... We r getting her with half the other members in the film anyway sots not like we wont see them. Maybe bring back Multiplex from the Flash

@Minty - do you know what movie that Grant.gif is from?

UPDATE: CBM mistakenly reported what ET Online mistakenly reported because we don't fact check, we just hurriedly throw something together to get stuff on the main page before someone else can rip-off the exact same thing; that the Suicide Squad returns in episode 18. "Suicidal Tendencies" is actually the 17th episode of seasooooooooooooooooon 3, not the 18th.

ah nice, look forward to more badass adventures with Task Force X. although can someone from Warner Brothers explain to me why we cant have the Suicide Squad tv series or at least a mini-series (Agent Carter-style) before theres any sign of the movies

Seriously, I get the whole point they dont want two live-action Suicide Squad teams in existence, but TECHNICALLY we dont get an official look at the Suicide Squad til a trailer around roughly the end of January 2016, so why not give us an Arrow Suicide Squad mini-series in the mean-time. At the end of the mini-series, have the Suicide Squad escape Argus and become the Arrow version of the Secret Six, away from Amanda Waller's clutches

In my idea for Season 4 of Arrow, Argus should be up to no good in Starling City, they arm Count Vertigo as the main villain for the first half of the season to distract Oliver (would be nice to see Vertigo in a big bad role) and then Amanda Waller leads Argus in nefarious deeds. Oliver eventually finds out and then the second half of the season could be Oliver attempting to bring down Argus because they have gone too far. Amanda Waller is "killed" (we dont see her body, plus it gets rid of her so they dont confuse the two live-action versions) & Argus falls, meaning they are free to be used in the movies without any confusion

that way, we get one final hurrah from the Arrow Suicide Squad before they would become the Secret Six. Plus, it would give Diggle a great arc to potentially finish out on (being connected to Argus & all), so they can get rid of his increasingly pointless presence (oh and while they are at it, give us a season of Olicity and then end it forever at the end of the season)

just some ideas, my main aim is to give the Suicide Squad/Waller/Argus one last big arc before the movie version become the dominant one

Why should the Suicide Squad movie ruin it for television's Suicide Squad... with proper promotion, they can separate the two universes in the eyes of the general audience. Also, have different members make up the core team in both television & cinema. The only main team member that will be shared is Deadshot basically, & the cinematic version will be played by Will Smith. So there's definitely a big difference with the tv version.
Look at the Flash.... It will hav about what?, 3 seasons running starring Barry Allen as the Flash, & that still hasn't stopped them from going ahead with a cinematic Barry Allen/ Flash (Ezra Miller)
