Wild Dog And The Luthors Take Center Stage In Descriptions For Upcoming ARROW And SUPERGIRL Episodes

The CW has released descriptions for Arrow and Supergirl, and they promise to reveal the secrets behind Wild Dog's origin story and the return of an iconic Superman villain to National City...

There are no new episodes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow the week beginning February 12th, but we do still have Supergirl and Arrow to look forward to. In the former, Superman villain Metallo will return as we look set to learn more about the Luthor family in flashbacks. Does that mean we'll get to see Lex or Lionel? That remains to be seen, but you have to believe they'll be referenced in some way.

Over in Arrow, we're finally going to learn more about Wild Dog's history as we take a break from Oliver Queen's time in Russia, something which may prove to be frustrating now that Talia al Ghul has arrived on the scene! Still, Rene has proved to be one of the more compelling new members of Team Arrow during season five, so getting to spend more time with the vigilante promises to be a lot of fun...

Supergirl - "
Luthors"

LENA IS ARRESTED – After Metallo (guest star Frederick Schmidt) breaks out of prison and frees Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong), the police blame Lena (guest star Katie McGrath) for his escape and arrest her. Despite overwhelming evidence, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe her friend is guilty and fights to clear Lena’s name. Flashbacks reveal how Lena came to be a Luthor.  Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie (Floriana Lima) celebrate their first Valentine’s Day together. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode written by Robert Rovner and Cindy Lichtman.

Arrow - "Spectre of the Gun"

WILD DOG’S HISTORY IS REVEALED — A traumatic attack on City Hall triggers painful memories for Rene (Rick Gonzalez) about his family. Flashbacks reveal how Rene went from simple family man to a hero named Wild Dog. Meanwhile, Oliver (Stephen Amell) must deal with the perpetrator behind the attack and realizes the best way to do so is as Mayor Queen instead of the Green Arrow. Tensions run high in the Arrow bunker. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim.

wait, so Lex's mom is the villain of this season of Supergirl? I guess that whole family has a genetic predisposition for becoming a massive asshole.

I wonder if they'll have Lex appear this season.

@JoshWilding - I'm not one to create controversy on this website, but this is a prime example of clickbate journalism that many of the people claim you do regularly. When I first started seeing comments from the other users on this site claim this it didn't bother me. Then I started to steadily see this happen in some cases from you and it continued to get worse. Often times I don't click on your articles anymore because of this. Below is my statement on why this is a clickbate article.

You show a picture of Lex in the icon and state that a Superman villain returns. Granted we haven't seen Lex in Supergirl at this point in time, but I'm pretty up on most of the Superman lore and I don't remember Lex's mom Lillian Luthor ever being an "iconic villain". I know Lena has been a villain at one point in time in the comics, but I still wouldn't call her "iconic" either, plus she is not a villain at this point in the TV series. I know why you used Lex's picture to signify the Luthor name, but the use of "iconic" is the part that makes the two combined clickbate.

Thanks for listening!

@batmbl - The "iconic" was in reference to Metallo's return in the episode. He is a known foe in the Superman lore and pretty much with all the S-wearing heroes.

I don't find his articles that bad. I really think people around here need to chill down a lot.

@NinnesMBC - Good call on that! I read that but because of the imagery of Lex when he easily could have used Metallo from the comics or even Lillian or Lena from the show in the icon that's where the Metallo reference didn't register when I read it.

Needless to say Josh's next button articles at the beginning were pretty entertaining to read, but then the more recent in the past couple of months most are just his opinion versus more fact based articles, with references even, which does feel very deceptive.

I'm all for his articles as long as he keeps away from imagery/verbiage that doesn't relate to the article at all.

Give Wild Dog his own show, kill off the Arrow show :) and have Supergirl and Ms Lex get freaky :3 sounds like a dang good plan!

Supergirl seems intriguing. I am looking forward to the flashbacks and if just like they showed a young child Ka-El in S1 we see a young Lex.

Lionel Luthor is so engraved in our minds from Smallville that it leads to this kind of speculation. I doubt if we meet a patriarch Luthor he'll be named Lionel or even have the same kind of characterization. But I'm sure his name will start with an "L". :P

Hoping Mon-El can get a chance to fight Metallo.

Arrow on the other hand seems will be more character themed, but Rene has proven himself to be an interesting character to see evolve, plus I like his dry humor.

Oliver handling things mayor style will be fun to see.

You know this is a Josh Wilding article because here is no mention of Lex Luthor whatsoever and yet Lex is the thumbnail. #clickbaiter

Somewhere in the DCCW universe is a light hearted DC Cinematic Universe I know it!! You have a happy cool superman on supergirl's earth+Martian Manhunter is there, you have the actual mirror master on earth 2,can't remember if they refrenced batman in the flash or arrow but he was refrenced in supergirl,if they have a justice league cw show with those characters I think it would be pretty cool.
