New GOTHAM Character Images; Episode Three's Villain Finally Revealed

In what may be a sign of things to come for Gotham, the villain has been revealed for the third episode of the upcoming series and it's a fairly obscure DC Comics character who seemingly shares only a name with his comic book counterpart. Who are we talking about? Find out here...

The above images comes courtesy of Spoiler TV and was scanned from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Now, that villain news. Here's an excerpt from the magazine's report on Gotham which offers up details on both the second (which we already know will be called "Selina Kyle") and third episodes of the Fox series. "The second episode, for example, takes on a child-snatching ring that targets street kids for overseas export, and the third introduces the Balloon Man, a killer who ties his victims to hundreds of balloons and sets them aloft. Says McKenzie, "The Crime is big and weird and eccentric and often has a lot of dark humour in it." The Balloon Man? I've done a bit of digging, and all I can find is a pretty obscure Metal Men villain who has pretty much no resemblence to this guy from what I can tell. Any theories?

Only character I can think of that uses balloons is the Joker and isn't every episode teases someone who could be the Joker with the season finale revealing who the Joker really is l. I wasn't siked about this show but more I see and read more I'm getting excited.

also you can't just take random nouns and attach "man" after it and think the villain will be compelling.

I was going to see the complete opposite thing I think if you touch man to any feelings name it gives it sort of a creepy or like the bogeyman to me that's creepy

When I saw the balloon man I thought that was a lot of potential kind of like Perrywinkle, a freaky clown handing out balloons and then there you have your Joker reference which I'm already tired of, by the way.

Still gonna watch it, still going to give it a chance. I missed out on not giving Arrow a chance

I don't think any of them except Catwoman are his age and I kind a hate that because by the time Bruce is 26 or 34 or 40 he's going to be fighting villains that are 15 to 20 years older no wonder why he's beating them all up

The more i hear the more dumb it sounds. The silly comedic nature of the villains only works in a non-grounded universe with Batman. Sure a lot of you will probably whine about how Nolan's series handled the character well and that was true, however this is trying to be much more grounded.

One of the main issues with this character is that he would be simply so easy for the police to catch - all they need to do is see who brought/owns hundreds of balloons. They could trace the seller of the balloons and find the character instantly - so automatically it makes Gordon look like an idiot unless he finds this guy immediately.

The only chance this series has is if it introduces Prometheus as a main recurring villain.

I could see Humpty Dumpty working, if they're going for more obscure yet grounded villains.

On Mythbusters it took over 4,000 balloons just to lift a 3-year-old. So, unless this "Balloon Man's" victims are small children he is going to need a LOT of balloons...
