Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Legends Of Tomorrow & The Flash star Dominic Purcell and The Flash & Arrow EP Andrew Kreisberg teased a few things to come on the DC Comics inspired shows. With the Berlanti-Guggenheim-Kreisberg alliance looking to double their workload next year, the latter claimed their "highest priority right now is getting the new show[s] launched, and making sure the quality of the old shows stays where it is."
First on the agenda was the Scarlet Speedster. According to Kreisberg, the writers will be revisting the past very early on in The Flash's second season. "We're working on episode four," he revealed, "There is a flashback to the night of the particle accelerator explosion, from somebody else's perspective which we haven't seen before."
Purcell also teased a scene he recently shot for the show, claiming it was "part of The Flash's dream sequence." From the sounds of it, though, he won't be spending too much time on The Flash next year, with the writers instead looking to "flesh Heat Wave out in Legends." However, we will get to see a little more of Wentworth Miller's 'Captain Cold'. Purcell revealed the writers are going to be "developing Cold's relationship with his sister" on the show.
Despite premiering mid-season next year, it sounds like we'll receive plenty of nods to the aforementioned Legends Of Tomorrow spin-off his fall. "Both Arrow and Flash are helping to set [the show] up, in both big ways and small ways, which is lovely," Kreisberg stated, "There's going to be a lot happening leading up to the crossover, which is serving as a [quasi] pilot for Legends."
Talk then turned to Arrow, which will also link to Legends Of Tomorrow by exploring "the mystery of what happened with [Ray] Palmer". Additionally, the story and consequences of Sara Lance's resurrection "will also be playing out in the first seven episodes." As we've all heard, one of those episodes will now feature Matt Ryan's John Constantine. Kreisberg called the script "unbelievable", adding that fans are "going to be blown away."
The Flash returns Tuesday, October 6 while Arrow is back the day after on Wednesday October 7 - both on The CW. Meanwhile, Legends Of Tomorrow is currently being prepped for a midseason premiere on the same network. Which show are you most looking forward to seeing?
