New Details On The Upcoming Seasons Of ARROW, THE FLASH & LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Legends Of Tomorrow & The Flash star Dominic Purcell and The Flash & Arrow EP Andrew Kreisberg teased a few things to come on the DC Comics inspired shows. With the Berlanti-Guggenheim-Kreisberg alliance looking to double their workload next year, the latter claimed their "highest priority right now is getting the new show[s] launched, and making sure the quality of the old shows stays where it is."

First on the agenda was the Scarlet Speedster. According to Kreisberg, the writers will be revisting the past very early on in The Flash's second season. "We're working on episode four," he revealed, "There is a flashback to the night of the particle accelerator explosion, from somebody else's perspective which we haven't seen before."

Purcell also teased a scene he recently shot for the show, claiming it was "part of The Flash's dream sequence." From the sounds of it, though, he won't be spending too much time on The Flash next year, with the writers instead looking to "flesh Heat Wave out in Legends." However, we will get to see a little more of Wentworth Miller's 'Captain Cold'. Purcell revealed the writers are going to be "developing Cold's relationship with his sister" on the show.

Despite premiering mid-season next year, it sounds like we'll receive plenty of nods to the aforementioned Legends Of Tomorrow spin-off his fall. "Both Arrow and Flash are helping to set [the show] up, in both big ways and small ways, which is lovely," Kreisberg stated, "There's going to be a lot happening leading up to the crossover, which is serving as a [quasi] pilot for Legends."

Talk then turned to Arrow, which will also link to Legends Of Tomorrow by exploring "the mystery of what happened with [Ray] Palmer". Additionally, the story and consequences of Sara Lance's resurrection "will also be playing out in the first seven episodes." As we've all heard, one of those episodes will now feature Matt Ryan's John Constantine. Kreisberg called the script "unbelievable", adding that fans are "going to be blown away."

The Flash returns Tuesday, October 6 while Arrow is back the day after on Wednesday October 7 - both on The CW. Meanwhile, Legends Of Tomorrow is currently being prepped for a midseason premiere on the same network. Which show are you most looking forward to seeing?

Wait, I thought Legends of Tomorrow got pushed back to next summer. Is that no longer a thing?

It's still being labelled as a 'mid-season' premiere Jilly, but rumor is it won't debut until Spring, 2016 - a bit like I, Zombie

So I assume it will be like 10 episodes or something then?

I read somewhere they haven't decided on the episode number yet, but it'll probably be in the region of 10-16 episodes

"making sure the quality of the old shows stays where it is."

If this is the case, I won't be tuning in.

Also none of these shows need to be more than 13 episodes. The writers clearly only have a limited amount of story material and end up filling the large voids with slow, uninteresting "drama" that goes nowhere. How many times have Laurel and Lance been mad at each other for reasons we can't remember? And how many times has Thea gotten angry at Oliver for not telling her something?

Okay naysayer @GuardianAngel ...there's plenty who love the format of these shows, so find other page to be hateful on

@GuardianAngel Yep, Arrow season 3 failed this city, but in my opinion, "The Flash" is the best comic book tv series out there, if season 2 will be as good as 1, I'm happy.

Poor wording there. I think the fans would really appreciate some kind of "We can do better" statement regarding Arrow.

The writing for Constantine was really amazing in my opinion. Arrow has been horrible and I hope they dont butcher Constantine

I am very excited for all of these!! While Arrow season 3 wasn't as high of quality as season two, it still has some kick ass moments and I can't wait to see where they take season 4

@ComicsDoneRight

Wanna hear something crazy? Your opinion and my opinion are equally valid as they're both subjective.

@Legolas1

I agree that The Flash was better than this season of Arrow, but I feel the Flash is far from a great show. Unfortunately it falls into the same mistakes that most other CW shows suffer from, frustratingly dumb characters, pointless "drama" that goes nowhere, and unintelligent writing. I believe that the only reason most fans are continue to watch is because the showrunners are continuously teasing elements from the comics that end up disappointing. The rest of the show is filler action. Remember when the Atom was first teased, or Ra's al Ghul's name first came up, how about when Gorilla Grodd's appearance was to blow us all away? I think a show that is only considered good based on what it promises to do isn't a good show at all. And don't even get me started on how many times the Flash seemingly forgets he has powers and lies on the ground watching the bad guy escape.

With that said, everyone has the right to like what they like and criticize what they don't. That's just my opinion, but as a DC fan I wish I could enjoy these shows more.

@GuardianAngel I agree with your opinion, it is pointless drama in some episodes, that bothers me too, I think we have to admit that this show is made for an younger audience than Gotham for example. With that being said, I can understand that older comic book fans may don't like the show as much as I do, but I still think that the whole Wells/Thawne storyline was pretty amazing AND good written if you compare it with smallville or agents of shield.

So you wish you could enjoy these shows more, but you have a "beware the batman" profile picture? :-) I have only watched three or four episodes, then I stopped, although Batman is my favorite character of all time, I just didn't like the style of the show. Even The Brave and the bold was better to look at in my opinion. ^^
By the way, I just discovered this page a few days ago, so that's why I am so intrusive. ^^

@Legolas1

I agree on it being better than Smallville and AoS. Also the Brave and the Bold was a great show IMO. I can see why a lot of fans might be thrown off by Beware the Batman having a different visual style than other Batman shows and how it deviated a bit from the source, but that's what I found very interesting. It wasn't as good as Brave and the Bold or Green Lantern the Animated Series, but I was very intrigued by season 1 and was interested in seeing where the show was headed with the Two-Face storyline. I initially just got the avatar to support a show not a lot of people gave a chance, but I never got around to changing it lol.

I'm worried that Arrow is trying to emulate the tone of the Flash, since Flash has proved so popular. This would be a mistake in my opinion, and they should be trying to get Arrow back to the awesome-ness of season 2.

Man, DC's world in The CW is growing magnificently. I sometimes forget iZombie is even around even when it's a DC property as well.

@Nomis

S3 gets way too much hate for no reason while S2 is completely overrated, imo.

@YeezusWept

Because Cupid had such great dialogue in the comics? Lol.

Ryan is a great Constantine, now if you could just keep him as a regular on Legends...

There is one word in all of that,that has me intrigued.That word is "show[s]".As far as I know there is just one unless they are counting Supergirl.If not,then they may really be testing the waters with episode 5 of Arrow featuring Constantine.Could be talking about Titans as well.Maybe I'm reading to much into that though.Here's to wishful thinking.

Keanu Reeves was and is Constantine.. He owned that role and if there is anything that should be made, it's a sequel

S1, S3, S2 for me. That's not saying S2 is awful by any means either, it's just Arrow has had three really good seasons.

Season 2 of Arrow was great. Let's hope for a return to greatness. I'm pumped about Flash but LoT has me a bit skeptical at this point.
Really glad Constantine is back too!

@Yeezys:

That line was actually what Cupid used to say in the comics, so at least it's comic accurate.
