SUPERMAN & LOIS Season 2 Behind The Scenes Photo Reveals Noteworthy Changes To Clark Kent's Suit

A new photo from the set of Superman & Lois season 2 has given us our best look yet at the Man of Steel's new costume, and one key change to Clark Kent's super suit is bound to make comic book fans happy.

It's not unusual for The CWVerse's superheroes to receive costume changes from season to season, and we now know that some alterations are in store for Superman & Lois' Man of Steel.

For the most part, Tyler Hoechlin's suit remains the same, but you'll no doubt notice that he's been given a pair of boots far more in line with what we're used to seeing in the comic books. It's surprising what a big impact such a small change can have, though the same could be said for the Fastest Man Alive, Barry Allen, as he's also been given some new footwear in The Flash

Superman & Lois has been one of the best reviewed DC TV shows to debut on The CW, though it did fall into a few familiar pitfalls as the first season progressed. There's a lot of excitement for where the show goes next, though, and the iconic hero should now look even better as he heads into action.

There was some big news for Superman & Lois in the UK recently, as the series has been picked up by BBC. The first season started airing each Saturday, and we're assuming the second batch of episodes will follow shortly after the show returns to The CW in the U.S. next January. Regardless, the DC Comics icon now shares a home with Doctor Who, which is actually pretty cool!

Check out the show's updated Superman suit in the Instagram post below:

@bobevanz - I still can't get over the new Superman suit since 52 just looks like one big onesie

at least the under roos added a bit of contrast to the suit.

His Supergirl suit is still superior in my opinion. This one looks like he tucked a random red blanket inside a blue shirt collar.

Id still like a larger neck hole. (Is that the correct term?)
These boots are a hue improvement, muscle shading is still weird looking and he still looks way larger than he looks when he's clark. Tyler's in great shape and we can see how large he is. I'm not sure why they over-do it. Still good over all.

Man so many people praised this show and because of that praise I thought I'd watch it but it was a tough watch. Typical CW crap, awful writing but even worse awful acting.. I appreciate the direction they went in, but the mix of poor writing and poor acting killed it for me. Couldn't finish it.

I wish we had more CBM tv shows of the quality of Daredevil. Instead most CBM shows just range from crap to meh.

A few familiar pitfalls since when? Glad they got rid of the should padding but I'm definitely loving the more bright colors. Amy Jo Johnson is still hot after all these years.

Just please don't put any padding on his suit.

I don't understand how can anyone see this as a normal super-human figure.

Can't wait to find out who's gonna be the main bad guy of S2!

I'd vote for Manchester Black, who was in Supergirl, but to me that wasn't the perfect direction of the comic character. I want a John Constantine-type british dude with purple hair and his Elite.

It would be interesting if Jor-El was the villain of Season 3. Although that would probably make a lot of fans angry.

Suit looks too big and the boots also look too big...like a cheap Superman Halloween costume boot.

It doesn't look as blocky but something is off. Hopefully they got rid of the weird ass pad.

Awful cheap looking suit.
ARMUS

I think it looks cheaper, the fake abs are right out of a child's Halloween costume, less padding and fake muscles also look better on a Superman suit, make it less shiny also, never been a fan of the man of steel suit for those reasons.

@ARMUS - that Christopher Reeve suit remains undefeated

I like that the boots are a brighter red color. Makes 'em pop!

Best thing the CW have made imo, lost interest in the other shows after a couple episodes. I lasted 1 season with the Flash. Amy Jo directing is a good look.

Nice. The first season was the best season of any comic book show this year, so very much looking forward to season 2.

That picture looks like a fan cosplaying Superman, the suit and the boots looks so cheap

So cheap, right down to the printed on "S" shield. You can even see the outline of his undershirt collar pressing through the material of suit. And I hate how damn tight it is in the neck area. Tyler and this show deserve better.

I don't know why they can't just make a tailored made variation of Brandon Routh's Kingdom Come suit. The thing is perfect.

Honestly if the folks from the Reddit sub for this show didn't point out the changes I would not have realized it. Besides the brightness I'd say the lack of padding is what stands out a lot more.

It'll look better onscreen, I am sure of it.

BTW these are the episode titles so far for Season 2.

And Elizabeth Henstridge will direct the 7th episode, which they appear to be starting now.
