Before Season 5 of
The Flash came to an end, rumors began circulating that Carlos Valdes would say goodbye to his time as Cisco Ramon and depart The CW drama. Speculation was then further fueled by the events of the season finale, which saw Cisco give up his powers to live a more normal life.
Now, after remaining silent on this issue, Valdes has chosen to shut down these rumors and express his love for the entire cast and crew of
The Flash.
"First, let me just address the rumors . . . I'm not leaving the show this season. I know everybody here is wondering, I know," the star told Entertainment Weekly’s Chancellor Agard.
"I see that look on your face. I'm not leaving the show. I love these guys. These guys love me, clearly. I love being in the room with these guys. I'm not leaving anytime soon."
While there wasn’t any evidence supporting the rumor that Valdes would depart the show, it still managed to gain a lot of traction among some fans, so these comments should put an end to the speculation.
Of course, this does raise a lot of questions about how Cisco will factor into the upcoming season now that he is no longer operating as the superhero Vibe.
The Flash will return for its sixth season October 8, 2019.
