The Flash season 9 is less than 2 months away, and we have been provided with bits and pieces of what is to be expected for The Scarlett Speedsters' final run!
Normally, a season of The Flash includes an abundance of episodes with 23 every year. However, because season 9 will serve as its last, we are looking toward a 13-episode season-long run, per Grant Gustin, the star of The Flash's request. An early February 2023 date has been slated for The Flash to begin airing its final season, still following the weekly change from airing on Tuesdays, now to Wednesdays.
The season will again be divided into 2 parts or better known as by the show "Graphic Novels". This format of the season will allow Barry and Team Flash to potentially face off against their biggest and worst threats ever, one of which we already know to be the long-awaited "Red Death", whom, thanks to a series of set photos we can unmask as Batwoman, from her titular short-lived show on The CW.
As for the other villain, many believe the also long-awaited "Cobalt Blue", to be played by Eddie Thawne, to serve as the other antagonist for the season. However, if it is not him going to be Cobalt Blue then most probably we can expect to see Reverse Flash again.
Can we expect Reverse Flash to return in some way shape or form this season? As unsure as I am about his demise being permanent, considering the fact that he had been eradicated for good at the end of season 8, for The final season of The Flash I see no possible way they can't include his character to be the main villain once more. This isn't what we know, just a fan theory I have.
Barry Allen will have too big of a burden to bear on his shoulders this season, so we can expect him to assemble a team of rogues (just like in the comics), of his B-class villains to help him fight the good fight.
This team will include of Goldface, Pied Piper, and The Hotness, thanks to the set photos. Captain Boomerang is also set to reprise his character, and we will see him early on in the season, but it has not been confirmed yet if his role will be majorly important to the overall story, or minimal to the point of just being a classic villain of the week for the Flash to handle.
As far as Flash season 9 news goes, that is all I have to speak about for now, but I drop in with an update soon!
