Dubbed Hitler Videos Being Deleted from YouTube!

YouTube has begun deleting satirical videos based on the 2004 Hitler movie Downfall after a copyright claim from a German studio.

The subtitled videos, which take a current event — such as DC Comics’ Watchmen movie (among the funniest) — and overlay der Führer’s over-the-top reaction to the news, have turned into a genuine internet meme.

The funniest was the one where Hitler hears that the alien squid would NOT be in the movie. Here's one that is still online dealing with the sequel rumor...


TechCrunch reports that the purge began with a Hitler/iPhone 4G video, which was taken down with the following notice: “This video contains content from Constantin Film, who has blocked it on copyright grounds.” Plenty of the Downfall videos remain, but who knows for how long.

I understand studios wanting to protect their properties, but this is ridiculous.The clip is less than 4 minutes long, it's just a scene of people standing around in a room, and it doesn't contain any original dialogue/subtitles.

Well, I always download the videos, anyway, so I already have them in case they're deleted.

On another note, that video about the pervy Canadian gameshow host keeps getting deleted due to copyright violation.I guess that studio is incredibly embarrassed by it.

That really blows. I'm with grif if not for those you tube vids I would have never heard of the flic.

Best one I ever saw was when the big H was denied his deep water diving license or something like that. When speaking about some silly looking fins that he had on..."My girlfriend bought me those fins I HAD to wear them!" Fricking classic.

This sounds typical. YouTube is such a bunch of overcensoring tools. What the hell is being hurt by these clips? Most of them I've seen are very funny. My favorite still remains the Watchmen.
