Joan Allen (The Bourne Supremacy, The Contender) may play the Silk Spectre I in Paul Greengrass' adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen comic series.

The Silk Spectre was Sally Jupiter nee Juspeczyk, a heroine during the 1940s and 1950s, who passed her namesake on to her daughter Laurie. Sally's relationship with fellow hero the Comedian is a key element of the maxi-series' plot.

Allen previously worked with Greengrass on The Bourne Supremacy.
