WATCHMEN Promo Stills Spotlight The Show's Main Characters As Review Embargo Lifts

Following those positive social media reactions, the full review embargo for HBO's Watchmen "remix" (it's a sequel) has lifted.

There are only a handful of reviews online right now, but most of them praise the show for its exceptional cast, high production values and compelling plot - although one critic does suggest that Watchmen's political stance is a little murky, even borderline irresponsible.

You can check out the reviews for yourselves here, and we also have a full batch of promo stills which spotlight the main players, including Angela Abar (Regina King), Judd Crawford (Don Johnson), Laurie Blake (Jean Smart), Adrian Veidt (Jeremy Irons) and the enigmatic Looking Glass (Tim Blake Nelson).

Check them out by clicking the view list button below, and let us know if you're planning to watch the Watchmen when the series premieres on October 20.

So [frick]ing excited to finally see this, sounds like Lindelof pulled it off - but after The Leftovers I was kind of expecting that.
There's a lot of reviews they still gotta add to RT & Metacritic, but it's getting a lot of flat-out raves. Some critics saying Tim Blake Nelson could get an Emmy nomination, which would make up for The Leftovers having been snubbed in so many categories.

Just saw that the red carpet for this was held on October 14, which is so cool for anyone who's seen The Leftovers

@knocturnalzen10 - Hey man, when you renew your sub you're not just gonna get Watchmen, but also Chernobyl, Barry and Succession - three of the best TV shows all year. Almost feels like GOT season 8 was a sacrificial lamb for every other show they release this year to be 🔥

It's this Sunday right? I will make an effort to remember to tune in.

Lots of things on Sundays for comic books adaptation.

I never knew I needed Regina King as a vigilante...but I do.

This makes the cancellation of The Hunt that much more [frick]ing stupid, since the show-runner of this show - which seems to be dealing with heavy, volatile issues in a nuanced manner - wrote that movie.

I’ve never really read or collected comic books, but Watchmen has caught my interest.
Has anyone read Doomsday Clock? What is the general consensus? Worth it, good but not great? Epic?
