The only Marvel Studios TV series to receive a second season on Disney+ is Loki, but WandaVision might be about to join it.
During a recent interview with Berkshire Magazine, Agatha: Coven of Chaos star Debra Jo Rupp - who will reprise her role as Sharon Davis/"Mrs. Hart" - claimed that the Kathryn Hahn-led spin-off will, in fact, be WandaVision season 2.
"It’s the second season of 'Wandavision' for Marvel. It’s very much like 'American Horror Story,' where each season is a whole new kind of thing," she reveals. "I was shocked when they called me, because I really thought that would be it, and I was fine with that."
"But when they called, I got so excited because it’s a character I never get to play. She’s gonna be great fun."
As you might expect, the actress couldn't (and wouldn't) reveal any specifics about what fans should expect from Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but did mention, "I am basically the same person that I was in 'Wandavision,' Mrs. Hart, but in a different kind of a thing."
Different? Consider us intrigued.
We still expect the show to arrive on Disney+ sometime next year, but it seems there's still plenty of work to do on the show. Rupp goes on to mention that, after shooting in Los Angeles, she now needs to head to Atlanta for another couple of months, suggesting Westview's residents will remain key in this story.
In many respects, it's not exactly a shock to hear Agatha: Coven of Chaos picks up where WandaVision left off, especially when Agatha was left trapped in her own mind in Westview. We also expect her quest to track down Wiccan, a.k.a. Billy Maximoff, as part of whatever the witch is up to once she's freed from her mental prison.
Keep checking back here for updates on the upcoming series as we have them.
