Clark Gregg Talks AGENTS OF SHIELD Season 2; Says It's 'Darker'

While on a press tour for his new film, Clark Gregg who plays Agent Coulson, briefly talked about the second season of Marvel's Agents of Shield, “It’s going to be lo-fi. You’re going back to basics. You’ve got to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. from the ground up in a much more dangerous world where your group is outlawed. So it feels like the early, Sean Connery James Bond with the brass knuckles and not afraid to knock somebody off.” He continued on talking about the darker tone that the next season will inherit as well as the new time slot and Agent Carter, “I thought there were so many things stacked against us last year,” said Gregg, “and one of them was where the ABC television schedule would put us on for three episodes and then take us down for four weeks. Nobody could get a momentum going and when the show started to be on consistently and having story that carried over in an episodic way, that’s when things started to click. So the great thing about the announcement was, A., we’re moving to nine, where it can be a little darker, like I think Marvel needs to be. Then they’re going to show, I believe it’s ten [Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes], eight of [Agent Carter], then twelve [more Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.]…For the most part, this is straight runs of our show, which is when I think it really works.” What do you guys think? Are you excited for the 2nd season of Agents of Shield? Leave your thoughts in the usual place.

If AOS season 2 is anything like the last 5 episodes, I am so down. I'm more down than a drunken loose woman on saint patties day.

Eh, I will believe when the show comes back. The first season was a mess, gained some momentum after Cap, then flopped on the season finale. I'm gonna give this show one more season.

Also going low-fi means cheaper on the show's budget

Looking forward to season 2, not something I would have said at all before the second half of season 1 rolled out.

And Agree 100% with Yoss, not only is she beautiful, but she is already sporting the low-tech SHIELD transportation footwear.

"where it can be a little darker, like I think Marvel needs to be."

I thought it was Marvel's schtick to be lighter?

Same old culprits upset about a little levity... Even though it was after everything important happened...just laugh DAMMIT! Lol.

I can't wait. I watched an encore of the finale on Sunday night, and it reminded me how badly I miss this show. And just how much I want to know what the [frick] Coulson was carving into the wall...

garrett went insane with the amount of GH in his system at the end and i find it cool that he actually became Clairvoyant at the end..bill paxton is known to be very scenery chewing and relying on his charm and Paxton went FULL ON at the end

Hm, I was always okay with this show, and the second half of the season was getting pretty good. Didn't care for large parts of the finale, though.

Definitely agree about the problems with the momentum, that shit really hurt the show.

I gave it a chance... I really did.. I was hyped I get to watch some CB tv series connected to the movies I love.. But after about 4 or 5 episodes.. NO, Just NO. Then I seen designs for some of the villians later in the series I see I'm not missing much. Would much rather take a rip of the 2' BatBong and get some 2k14 in....

I tried.. I tried

I think moving it until 9 is a great idea. Get it out of NCIS's timeslot. My guess would be a minimum of 2million average viewership rise, simply because of that.

@LAs

2k14? If it ain't EA, it ain't worth it...lol.
