Could Agent Grant Ward become The Punisher?

Here's a theory that I have about the future of the Agents of SHIELD character.

This may be a bit of a stretch, but just hear me out. On last night’s episode of Agents of SHIELD, Simmons was infected by a Chitauri virus that was going to kill her. Agent Grant Ward was watching her on a camera feed as she tried to find a cure, Skye then shows up and talks with Ward. While they’re talking Ward says “I wanted it to be a person. Some super-powered psychopath, someone I can hurt, someone I can…punish…that I can do.” You can watch the scene here at 26:10 http://watchabc.go.com/marvels-agents-of-shield/SH55300807/VDKA0_a4pen2s9/fzzt

He could have said anything, but he said “punish”, and the way he said it made the word stick out, almost as if they wanted us to remember that word.

I think they could TOTALLY do this. They could say that Grant Ward is just his alias and his real name is Frank Castle, he’s special ops so that’s very plausible. In a possible spin-off, or even if they want to make him The Punisher later in the series, they could show him take some time off to go on a picnic in Central Park with his family, and then all of the horror will go down and he’ll become The Punisher. Plus, the guy looks just like Frank, have him get some scars on his face from Central Park, and he’ll look perfect.

So do you guys have any thoughts?
