We know that Daredevil: Born Again will pit Matt Murdock against The Kingpin, but beyond that, it's unclear which other foes from the Man Without Fear's rogues gallery will appear.
Thus far, there's been no indication characters like Bullseye, Elektra, and Gladiator are set to show up, a disappointment for fans hoping to see Marvel Studios delve into Daredevil's corner of the MCU. However, 18 episodes leave plenty of room for surprises and we now have news on one very unexpected villain who is being lined up for a major role.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman, current plans call for Muse to be the main antagonist during the first half of Daredevil: Born Again's debut season on Disney+ (we've previously heard the plan is to split it in two).
Introduced in the pages of Charles Soule and Ron Garney's Daredevil run in 2016, Muse is a sociopathic serial killer who believed he was giving purpose to his victims by turning them into twisted works of "art" via transforming their blood and gore into large murals or other displays.
Muse never reveals his true name, and his exact origins are a mystery, with his exact powers being unexplained and how he obtained them being equally unknown. However, his enhanced strength and speed are widely believed to be a result of him being a mutant.
This would be a dark direction to take the series down, though we have heard it's likely to be similar in tone to Netflix's Daredevil. We're sure Matt's attempts to track down and stop Muse would be one of my plots that run through the show, with Wilson Fisk also sure to be looming large somewhere in the background too.
As for whether there will be room for some familiar baddies from the comics, that remains to be seen. This will probably be our best chance yet of seeing Stilt-Man on screen, though.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ next year.
