DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Rumored To Feature An Unexpected Villain First Introduced In Charles Soule's Run

According to a new rumour, the big bad of Daredevil: Born Again's first half will be a relatively new character who first appeared during Charles Soule's popular comic book run. Read on for details...

We know that Daredevil: Born Again will pit Matt Murdock against The Kingpin, but beyond that, it's unclear which other foes from the Man Without Fear's rogues gallery will appear.

Thus far, there's been no indication characters like Bullseye, Elektra, and Gladiator are set to show up, a disappointment for fans hoping to see Marvel Studios delve into Daredevil's corner of the MCU. However, 18 episodes leave plenty of room for surprises and we now have news on one very unexpected villain who is being lined up for a major role.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, current plans call for Muse to be the main antagonist during the first half of Daredevil: Born Again's debut season on Disney+ (we've previously heard the plan is to split it in two).

Introduced in the pages of Charles Soule and Ron Garney's Daredevil run in 2016, Muse is a sociopathic serial killer who believed he was giving purpose to his victims by turning them into twisted works of "art" via transforming their blood and gore into large murals or other displays.

Muse never reveals his true name, and his exact origins are a mystery, with his exact powers being unexplained and how he obtained them being equally unknown. However, his enhanced strength and speed are widely believed to be a result of him being a mutant.

This would be a dark direction to take the series down, though we have heard it's likely to be similar in tone to Netflix's Daredevil. We're sure Matt's attempts to track down and stop Muse would be one of my plots that run through the show, with Wilson Fisk also sure to be looming large somewhere in the background too.

As for whether there will be room for some familiar baddies from the comics, that remains to be seen. This will probably be our best chance yet of seeing Stilt-Man on screen, though.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently expected to premiere on Disney+ next year.

I have no hope for this to be worth a watch.

After watching almost every D+ shows except Mrs marvel, I honestly think I could have skipped all of them and watch something more entertaining or smarter.

On the movie side, Guardians Vol.3 gave me hope, but since the dude who made it won't be back in the MCU...

Gunn just did a mic drop on Disney.

@Usernametaken - I hadn't planned on watching Miss Marvel. Thought it wouldn't be my type of show and gave in and decided to give it a shot. Surprisingly good.

@hue66 - I know I can watch way better than this.

Just binged season 1 and 2 of The Bear, that show was way better than any MCU shows we got.

@Usernametaken - That show is pretty amazing from the actual food and kitchen experience . Such a good show.
i' have been surprised that Marvel didnt try to sign Ayo Edebiri for some role in Black Panther or Ironheart.
Jeremy Allen seems like he could fit into something like the Spiderman universe for sure.I think that he is being considered in Tarantino's last film from what I have read.

@SuperZeroCustmz - Both of them have a great future in the industry.

I can't wait for Allen to be in more movies, but a Tarantino? holy crap even better, thanks for the info.

Bring back Bullseye, you cowards.

Isn't this show 18 episodes?

How can they not use Bullseye in at least one episode?

If they don't use him thay will be a huge disappointment.

@CorndogBurglar - It looks like that only characters like Fisk who have long runs are being used by both the D+ show and the Netflix one. It smells to me like an attempt to differentiate between the two. YMMV.

@JDL - Maybe. But Bullseye is such an important part of Daredevil. And they don't need to us3 the same actor. And they can actually put him in his own costume.

@CorndogBurglar - If it's what I think then the MCU is signalling that Bullseye does not meet their standard for so important it gets used in both versions. There seems to be very little crossover at this point. YMMV.

So it's named after a Frank Miller arc, but features no Karen Page and is all based on the Charles Soule run?

Sounds like we're def getting the Mayor Kingpin thing then, as was rumored.

Hope they go back to the OG corrupt mayor in Kingpin's mob story and make Richard Raleigh somebody working for Fisk's campaign. Or even deputy mayor as a nod to that original story.

(the classic oversized Spectacular Spider-Man Magazine #1 by Stan Lee, John Romita Sr and Gerry Conway, and the remake in Amazing Spider-Man #116 by the same team)

It all tied into Daredevil #42 as well:

Lets not ignore the classics just because Charles Soule did a souped up version of it later on.

I see people sleeping on Muse and Soule. Really enjoyed Soule’s run. It was lawyer centric and Muse was an interesting, terrifying new villain and the best creation of Soule’s run. I’ve wanted to see him back in the fold.

When it comes to the show adapting him….we’ll see how that goes.

“… turning them into twisted works of ‘art’ via transforming their blood and gore into large murals or other displays.“

So “Hannibal”, basically? Lol

@ReverseFlasher - similar for sure but I think the key difference is he’s primarily a graffiti artist/mural painter. Uses the blood as his paint and the entire city is the canvas

I also think the way he stages his dead bodies is of a grander scale than Hannibal. It’s never just one

I liked Charles Soule's run. It's always nice to see adaptations draw from the latest developments in the comics.

Someday I wouldn't mind to see the debut of the Order of the Dragon and The Beast.
