Pretty much all of Marvel Television's Netflix TV shows declined in quality as time went on, and that was definitely the case with Jessica Jones.
Following a phenomenal first season, the second batch of episodes was a disappointment and the third...well, the less said about that, the better. Still, we really can't find fault with Krysten Ritter's performance as the alcoholic P.I., and rumours have swirled for a while that she may return as Jessica Jones in the MCU.
Recently, Ritter shared some photos on Instagram of her hitting the gym. The actress appears to be training for an upcoming role, but the fact she's wearing a Daredevil t-shirt has spent speculation into overdrive.
While by no means confirmation that she'll star in Daredevil: Born Again, we'd argue that these shots lend at least some weight to rumours that Ritter has been enlisted for the Disney+ series. It was originally reported that the actress was eyed for a cameo in Echo, but had to decline due to scheduling issues, with it later said she would join the Man Without Fear in his show.
As that's set to explore street-level superheroes across 18 episodes, it's arguably the best place possible for Ritter to get another chance to play Jessica Jones.
We wouldn't necessarily expect any sort of appearance to lead to another series or movie, but one would be welcomed, and she could quite easily become a recurring presence in any projects that take place on the mean streets of New York City.
Marvel Studios has primarily focused on world-ending threats, so an exploration of the heroes who protect regular people is long overdue. As always, it's best not to get too excited before we get official confirmation.
