New DAREDEVIL Banner Shows The Path To Season 2
See the gauntlet that Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) ran through in season 1 to become the Daredevil of season 2. New episodes of the smash-hit Marvel and Netflix collaboration begin streaming March 18th. As we draw closer to the new season, who do you think is the 'actual' villain?
Daredevil features returning stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Rosario Dawson. New stars joining the show for season 2 include Élodie Yung, Jon Bernthal and Stephen Rider. Scott Glenn is also expected to reprise his role as Stick. While the new season is just a mere ten weeks away there's scarcely any details about who Daredevil will face in season 2. The new showrunners for Daredevil, Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez, have referred to season 2 as "Daredevil vs The Punisher". But it's hard to imagine an anti-hero like the Punisher as the actual villain of season 2, surely there's true villain present that both characters will be trying to stop.
In the comics, the conflict between Daredevil and Punisher has always revolved around their respective methodologies; is it better to bring truly evil criminals to justice or just execute them on the spot? With the introduction of Elektra (Elodie Yung), surely The Hand can't be too far behind. Nobu (Peter Shinkoda) certainly appeared to be a member of The Hand but the show has yet to explicitly make this connection. Perhaps Elektra arrives in NYC to avenge Nobu only to discover that his killer is her old college flame?
