Vincent D'Onofrio Talks His Hesitation To Join Marvel's DAREDEVIL And The Series Tone
In an interview with Collider Kingpin actor Vincent D;Onofrio discusses why he was hesitant to sign on as Daredevil villain, The Kingpin, and the tone of the series. Hit the jump to see what he had to say.
In exclusive phone interview with Collider, Vincent D’Onofrio revealed that he hesitated to sign on as Wilson Fisk in Marvel's Netflix series, Daredevil, and wanted to speak with Jeph Loeb and showrunner Steven DeKnight first before signing on. D'Onofrio says that it was after the "second [phone call] with Jeph and Steven DeKnight," that he was convinced to sign on.
The actor then says that the tone is unlike anything we are expecting and that "emotionally, it goes places that I don’t think anybody is going to expect."
When asked about Marvel's plans for Fisk after Daredevil D'Onofrio revealed that you never know with Marvel because "they have their world, but they don’t like to spoil anything, so nobody knows until it’s set in stone."
Collider then asked the actor about Colin Trevorrow's Jurassic World to which he replied by praising the script and the director saying, "It’s a really good script, and Colin Trevorrow, the director, is just a really great guy."
